After the meeting with OW and her lawyer, H came home and decided that he'd rather try for some sort of visitation before resorting to NC or relinquishment! He's going to try to retain a lawyer today.
I was hoping that he wouldn't go through with relinquishment! Although, I know it's his decision to make, I'm glad he's still willing to try to be father to this girl!
Wish us luck!

Welcome to the contact ride! Please remain seated until the ride has come to a complete stop. HeHe! Have alot of patients, PRAY alot! Keep your seat belt on the while the ride is in progress! Don't loose faith or your temper. Keep in mind WHY you are doing this. You have Legal rights to make a life with this child! And keep in mind anything worth fighting for is WORTH HAVING! You and H be a team for your family. I can say its been one of the hardest things I have been though, BUT well worth it everytime I hold baby A! I'll be praying for you! Sunny D

Now the fun begins!
Discuss w/ H the real type of visitation schedule you want. What is best for your family ect & get prepared.
Make sure every detail is written & legal.
Create a schedule that works for YOUR family.
The more detailed it is ----the less there is to argue about. IT must be easy to read & enforceable by any law agency if need be.

You guys crack me up!
My H seems very determined, and we have a lunch date tomorrow to decide on a schedule and go through the paperwork.
I don't know, in a way I feel like if we were to give up (NC/relinquishment) we would be giving the OW exactly what she wants. IMO it's better for OC to maintain a relationship with her father and siblings, being that I grew up without my bio father I truly think it had a negative effect on my life.
I appreciate all of your support and info...keep it up because I have a feeling this is going to be one heck of an emotional ride!
Thanks, ladies!

OoooooooooH! I totally felt the saem way towards NC too-that we were giving OW what she wanted.
But it's true-it was what she wanted & I thought that was immature of her to be playing these control games & beign difficult so we woudl back off & bow out.
But only after my kids were having such a hard time dealing w/ it too, did H & I finally give up.
It just wasn't worth it anymore. So OW gets what she wants-stops bothering us & our family gets some peace. Unfortuenately, OC is the one left out in the cold. ********************** Now that there are a few of us here that have gone through the legal process of visitation----you can be better prepared & avoid some of the mishaps we had to learn the hardway.
Isn't this site just the greatest support system?
And I don't know what sunnyd is talking about--->the ride NEVER comes to a complete stop! LOL

No KT its doesn't. Even when they get 18-21. There is still the grand-kids, M and all that stuff. It may slow down every now and then. Your life is definity not boring by no means! I can say making it legal has helped! It only took us 3 months. But we have had the attorney since the "news" of the OC. We came up w/ the POJA for us and then worked on the visitations w/ her. Get to know EVERYTHING about the laws in your state. Knowledge is everything! Dont be bluffed. Stick to what you know is fact and let the attorney do the rest. Judges are not stupid. And more states are pushing for better co-parenting laws! Here are some web sites. Childrens Justice Non custodial parents rights Hope that helps. Also look uder www.divorce.net They will have your state guidelines for you to start with. Sunny D
