Hi there everyone,
I'm experiencing some wierd pains and pings lately. I know they say that laying on your left side with a pillow is the best but lately I've noticed that I will wake up in the middle of the night with my left upper leg killing me with pain. I switch to my right side and the next time I wake up, its the same way. When I get up in the morning, I feel like both of my legs have gone through 100000 squats each. Next is that my lower back is KILLING me by the time I get home yet nothing seems to help. Any advice?
Thank you!

Try a pillow between your knees. It will take the pressure off your hip and spine.

Hurt, I'm having the same pain in my thigh. It's mostly when I lay on the side, but can also be during the day if I sit in a funny position. I was going to ask the doctor about it. It really hurts. I've had vericose veins, and it's similar to that pain, but last much longer. Laying on my back seems to help, and the pillow also helps. Maybe it's normal?

Yeah, I do the pillow between the legs but nothing seems to help. So I looked up some stuff online and I find myself on my back when I wake up but it told me that laying on your back puts 55lbs of pressure on your spine. So I don't know. It could be normal! But then if it is, it really sucks! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

Hi Hurt,
I just had my 6th baby Jan 3!!! I'm so happy for you. I love being a mom.
Back pain is unfortuneately a normal part of pregnancy, although this is kind of early for it to be interrupting your sleep. Alot of things can factor in to make it worse. You are under ALOT of stress right now which can definitely exacerbate all normal pregnancy symptoms.
Things I found to help back pain: moderate stretching, lifting properly using your legs, be very careful when twisting/reaching, long soaks in a warm bath (my personal fave). There is also a product out now that is like an elastic belt that is designed to help support the weight of your pregnant belly and take some of the pressure off your back. Most importantly, relax and enjoy this. When you get stressed your muscles involuntarily bunch up and your stomache muscles (which normally support your back) are all stretched out making your back muscles do double duty.
Don't let anyone steal your joy. Let your hubbie know you need extra pampering and together celebrate every moment of this pregnancy...preferably with back rubs and lots of chocolate cake!!

thanks everyone for the advice! Happymom, 6 kids really? Well I give you props on that. Its my first pregnancy and I'm amazed that Moms have more then one little one!!!! Plus, my H was like, well we get to try for a girl and I was like, UM DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG I HAVE TO WAIT TO HOLD MY LITTLE BOY!!! Its like a terrible slow waiting game that really drags. I feel like I've been pregnant FOREVER, not because of all the pains and whatever, but because I yearn to hold him EVERYDAY, especially now that I can feel him kick and move!

LOL when the time comes to actually have the baby (labor/birthing process) your going to be begging for one more day LOL
Have you tried stretching before bed like a runner does?
sounds like muscle spasms to me i have had plenty and mainly due to dehydration and hormones if I can remember the exacts of what my pregnancy coach said I will elaborate later.
If you get spasms in the legs try hydrating yourself, this can help in 2 ways lol if you are full of water then great for your body and if you are prone to the spasms in the middle of the night then the stretching you will do all night walking to and from the bathroom will help prevent them lol
I know you said good advice .... LOL well thats all I can remember its been 10years .... I will do better next time.
