Nio and I have had 3 very blissfully quiet weeks of love and mutual understanding. Here's to the next 3 weeks, and the next, and the next.
(sigh) I'm happy again.

Thank you ladies!
This morning Nio came home to show me his new patrol car. It is SO effing cool.... I make the appropriate oooohhhhs and aaaaahhhhs and that's so cool noises and I left to take Leo to daycare. I leave the daycare and who's sitting out front? Yep. Said he just needed a few more kisses.
How schmaltzy is that?

Thanks ladies.
Here's our newest news (already posted on I-ville). For those who don't know, Nio had a minor outpatient surgery on Friday.
Lessee. Thursday night we went out to dinner than went to a new tattoo parlor. Yep. Got 'nother one. His is an octopus on his quad, mine is a black sun with pretty wavy tendrals. In the middle of it is a circle with a huge wave crashing out of the sun....brillant colors. It's in between my shoulder blades. Dude that did it almost KILLED me though. Dang! I've never had a tat hurt so bad - he scrubbed that ink in so hard I thought I'd not have skin left. Itches like the devil today - must be healing.
Fri - the op was a success. Nio was so funny coming out of it....kept asking, "Where's my wife..." and I was standing right there. (sigh) He needs me....and after him nursing me through multiple surgeries throughout our M, it was MY turn. After he was released, we ate at our fav Taqueria then rented a ton of movies. We lay in bed all day snuggling and watching movies and napping. IT WAS WONDERFUL! (kids were at Grandma's)
Sat - went shopping all day! I found 2 old Conan comics that I'd had when I was a kid - LOVED the Conan series - near mint condition, and started a JLA/Witchblade series. Went to the mall and finally broke down and got some heeled (3 1/2 inch) leather calf boots. Picked up the rug rats and had one of our friends over to grill fajitas. Both Nio and Raul fell asleep in their la-z-boys while were were watching The Village (not what I expected). Raul swears he's buying a lazyboy next! He's got the CUTEST baby (his wife works nights), and has asked me to babysit her when the shift change comes up. I LOVE SNIFFING BABY HAIR!
Okay. I have to tell everyone to think about this when you next shop at Kohls:
Went to Kohls yesterday to buy kids mid-year school clothes. Chose LOTS of stuff, went to the counter to ring out. Total came up to close to $400. I wrote a check. Check was refused by Kohls. Embarassing, but I just swiped my ATM and it went through immediately (same account). Get out to the car and call the 800 number on the back of the refused check. Am told that the reason my check was refused was because I had a lot of activity on my account lately (rent, car payment, phone payment, the shopping the day before)....so basically, because I have been spending MY money, they took it upon themselves to tell me HOW they wanted my payment. WTF? I called the 800 number that the check people gave me (Kohls) and they told me it's their POLICY?!?! They know it's flawed and embarassing, but it's their POLICY?!?!? I told them they just lost a customer and took ALL of the stuff back. How dare they?!?! So now they have to re-stock all that stuff, and I went to the $100 store, where they don't tell me a G-D thing and happily take my money however it's presented.
We went out to Fudruckers, and while we were there OC called. She talks to Rebekah and Leo and Daddy, then Daddy asks if she wants to talk to mommy....So I get on the phone and tell her I love her and to be good for her (other) mom. She says, "I love you mommy, I miss you." Well, apparently OW was listening in...she gets on the phone after I gave it back to Nio and starts in with, "She's not her mom, you quit calling her mommy..." Nio very calmly said that I am her mother, too, and she (OW) doesn't control who he's with, just like he doesn't control who she's (OW) with...She hung up on him.
I think he handled it well. I also think she should've thought of that when she got pg....it was always a chance for an outcome....but, hindsight and all that. OW isn't known for her foresight anyway.
We got a TON of stuff at the $100 store, so the day wasn't a bust. Nio was really sore when we got home so he took a happy pill (hydrocodine) and we lay in bed and watched The Punisher (okay - not as good as the comics).
That was my weekend.

Where have you been? LOL
PUNISHER is my H absolute FAVORITE comic! Our friend works @ hot topic & always gets him something punisher-y for his b-day, got him that belt buckle this last time. Yah, he thought the movie sucked, just like the first one!
Yay! A boycott, I LOVE boycotts! Okay, I'll never shop @ Kohl's again!!! (although, I think I've only shopped there once. LOL)
I rarely buy ANYthing 'new'. Although....the last few weeks I have been. H earned these Nordstrom's gift cards last month for a promotion/incentive his job was having. (uh about $1000 worth! GREAT guy!!! ) BUT of course how far would THAT go? SO we have been using them t the NORDSTROM RACK, which is like where all the clearance Nordstrom stuff goes....woohoo!!!!!!!
I think he was able to get a few shirts, slacks, pair of jeans & 2 pairs of shoes & I (the great bargain hunter that I am) got 3 dresses, snazzy sweater, 2 pants, & a pair of shoes for about 1/3 what he paid!!!!!! SO he gave up & let me have the rest of the dough since it goes so much farther for ME!
I still got over $100 left & that was even AFTER I took my MIL & SIL shopping w/ me to get something for themselves. (H idea, he's SO adorable! ) THe first batch we used for Christmas, but about $650 of it came AFTER wards.....too bad we didn't know of the rack for x-mas!
Anyhoo.....I just TJ'd didn't I? oops...well, my point was if there is a RACK near ya', it would behoove you to check it out!
Great to hear from ya' again, anyhoo.......have ya' heard from Albany?

KT and Dealan- do you ever shop at the Goodwill?
I am SOO excited about my trip there with my stgepdaughter yesterday!!! I have JUST convinced my H .. that Goodwill is "GOOD" lol!!!
My area is a decent area and those are the ones to go to. Rich men drop off stuff I dont think they have ever worn. And at "my" Goodwill everything is sorted by color, size, and have NOT a SPOT on them.
I took my stepdaughter with me for a Sunday thrifting fest. We usually come back with some really neat or funky pieces of furniture (I have a funky/retro-ish decor) and I get 1960's glass items there too that I collect.
WELL WELL WELL!!! I browsed the mens stuff and I got my H 26 shirts, 4 dress pants and 3 ties.... for $90.00!!! (I'm a little excessive...) My husband almost fell over when we started to present him with these SACKS of BEAUTIFUL clothes!!! Each shirt was either Polo or Ralph L or Brooks Brothers, etc.... every shirt (dress shirt, sexy tight sweaters, etc) were ALL luxorious fabrics, perfect cuts and NEARLY FREE!!! LOL.
I have won over another person (my H) on the Goodwill thing. My husband's clothes are DISPOSABLE anyway. He goes thru clothes faster than my kids do--- this was PERFECT for him! I was sooo pleased.
I just had to share my excitement...... !!!

Where do you think I shop in between my RARE new-clothes shopping outtings?
Besides these gift cards, I NEVER pay retail.
Oh & the GIRLS clothes? There is NO reason on EARTH to pay retail for an item of female clothing! I get BRAND NEW looking stuff for FREE from friends too for my Libertybelle! LOL
Girls have a lot & tons of it ends up @ the thrift store!
I even do a lot of my Christmas shopping there. Have found unbelievable things, practically BRAND new toys for the ktbunch even. THe only thing 'wrong' w/ them was that they weren't in their original packaging. Most never even look played w/!
IN our area goodwill is pricey, but Target donates their clearance items to good will. I like the independent stores, usually priced a bit cheaper. There is one right up the block from me..................bargains GALORE!
I even find Mary ENglebreit stuff that I love ot collect her stuff! IT's jsut GREAT!
THat's ONE way to be able to afford living off of ONE income! LOL

We have a nordstrom off the rack store here and it's great!!!! We have several outlit malls here too. I like the dress barn and when they have there seasons stuff going on sale it's great. I wear a lot of dress up clothes for work and I like skirts to mix and match blouses with. a few years ago I went the dress barn and bought 10 skirts and not one of them was OVER 5.00 bucks. All of our Goodwill stores are pricey as KT says. I did not know that some were independant. We have a place here called Opportunty Village that all the empolyess are young adult down syndromes and they normally have pretty good prices there.

Yes the little girls stuff is amazing---- the boys, however, have ZERO clothes there-- wonder why? Grass stains and food stains comes to mind with the boys!!!
I did get a SACK of TREASURES from Target there! I wanted this ONE bracelet and they said you had to buy the whole bag. My sdaughter and me dupted out the bag and it was all cute stuff for us! 12.99 for about 25 pieces of hip jewely-- bracelets, necklaces, toe rings, earrings, ankle bracelets, pins!
I know about one income... I'm living it! I'm supporting all 5 of us on mine My H had a bad accident at work and we are in the LONG process of fighting over the funds due to my H. We ARE going to get them, but H CANNOT FREAKING WORK due to legal issues UNTIL the final determination...
And my whopping CS payment for my 14 year old is $150.00...
And My H is to pay money for the OC and the payments are already 2 months behind. THAT payment I WILL NOT put forth .01 cent for. He needs to take his butt down to the family division and file for a modification so he will only have to pay 50.00 a month. Not worrying about that part, though!
And to Dealan---- I cannot imagine my stepchildrens' mother hearing them call me MOM-- My stepdaughter has actually asked me if she could and I said she better ask mommy about that one! LOL !! I know the answer, already, though!!

She should've thought of THAT before she got pg and decided to keep it.
Really, though...since she didn't, I don't see how she has any say in it. I AM MOMMY at MY house. I am the ONLY mama at my house. I do tell the OC "be good for mommy" when they go home, and I always refer to OW as mommy when we talk, so it's not like I'm trying to usurp her place in their hearts....SHE made this the uncomfortable thing for HERSELF with her choices. I'm just being the best mom I can be. If she faults me for that, tough noodles.
(side note: Nio says I am HANDS down a better mother anyway 'course we knew that, my kids don't get bugwuggies on a constant basis)

kimmy...I think we're twins in some ways! I would say those exact same things! (be good for mommy, refer to OW as mommy--ALWAYS)
But STILL OW had the nerve to accuse me of telling OC "I was her NEW mommy!"
THey just DON'T know what kinds of women we REALLY are!(respectable for starters!)

I honestly don't know how I would feel my daughter's calling anyone else mommy. Except that I know kids enough to know that everything is association. It would be kind of hard for a child (especially a younger child) not doing that. I can remember my great neice went through a stage where she was calling me, my sister (her grandma) and others close to her mommy and calling her mom by her name for about 6 months We corrected her, but basiclly just went with it. It's hard for a step child when around the fathers/mothers family whomever it maybe hearing the other kids calling the stepmom mommy and not doing the same thing. Plus also I think that even if they do it, they still know the difference of who the main caregiver is. It's kindof acceptance do you think? Plus if your treating that child with love and aceptance as you treat your other kids.......well.......it's expected. They are just kids. Hey I can remember when the twins insisted on my calling me and there dad by there first name cause that is what they heard everyone else calling us.

Yeah. I got it Thursday, Mar. It's not scabby, but is already flaky. They told me Aquaphor was great to use, so that's what I've been using. Dh's isn't nearly as raised and he's using Aquaphor, too. But I tell ya, that boy who did it had a HEAVY hand. Man! I've never had a tat hurt so bad...I thought I was gonna 'uke!
About mija calling me mommy...that's the take I have on it, too. Honestly, though, it was a potential outcome of OW having dh's babies....that they'd be spending time with me on a long term basis. Unfortunately, OW didn't think of that particular thing. I just find it hard to feel anything other than sorry for OC. I hope she didn't jump on mija after she hung up on Nio....it's not the babies fault they've been put in this sitch.
