She saw the psychiatrist tonight. Briefly talked with her. Don't know thwe medication that she is on. But know that she is on something. Hopefully this will help her to think more clearly.
She also needs to cut back. She is doing full and part time jobs as well as taking a full load (4 classes) on top of wanting to be Mom. The Mom part is suffering the most. I pick up the slack there.
I keep praying that she will see the light soon because I feel my own midlife crisis coming on. I want to take a major cut in pay and blend into the woodwork. Not happening in my current job. They are adding things to my job description that I can't say no to because they are things I want to do but maybe in another year or so. I want to spend time with my family now that our debt is almost gone.
------------------
God Bless,
Rob
regilmor@swbell.net

Rob,
This might be the best thing that ever happened to her. Maybe she will moderate and then beignto put her life back into perspecti ve. This is one positive step, so be grateful for some forward progress.
Happy Valentine's Day....
Desiree
------------------
"Life is made up, not of great sacrifices or duties, but of little things in which smiles and kindnesses and small obligations, given habitually, are what win and preserve the heart and secure comfort."
Sir Humphry Davy
AD's certainly won't hurt.
I am beginning to start worrying about you, Rob. I'm not thinking that you are going to do something irrational, but I'm worried you are running out of steam.
Start learning to take care of you through this process. All your energy is focused on your wife's life. I'm not saying sacrifice your love for your wife, or your attention on her, but I am saying to be good to you.
Make sure you do this without thinking in terms of "or", but rather "and". Your feelings of wanting and resentment are good indicators that you are shortchanging yourself in this process.
What do you like to do? Do you like to sit in the park and watch birds? Do you like to take drives in the country? Do some of those things that help you enjoy you, the company that you spend with yourself. Be a good friend to yourself.
God Bless you.
TNT

I hope I am being obedient to the Lord here, and not being off on a tangent.... But when I read this post in the Women's Bible Study Forum, I thought it was for you, Rob: here it is

quote:
Setting Boundaries
You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me. Ps. 139:5
What is the purpose of a hedge? To create a boundary, a protection, privacy.

quote:
We are often unwaware that we have boundaries or that they have been violated. That's why anger and resentment are often one of the first healthy signs. Anger is a signal that someone has gone too far-transgressed our boundaries- and that we know it.

[This message has been edited by trustntruth (edited February 15, 2000).]

Desiree,
Thanks. I am hping this will allow her to be more focused. She was put on sleeping pills as well as AD's. She looked catatonic this morning. Not sure it was just the AD. Looked like the sleeping pill hadn't worn off yet.
Jamie-Lee,
Thanks for the prayers. I feel pretty good today. We are going to lunch today provided she doesn't back out.
Connie,
I am running out of steam. The most important means of doing things for me is spending time with her. The second most important thing for me only is a LB: spending time on the computer.
I am talking with our boys and reading my Bible which I don't think she takes to be a major LB. Yet, when she is upset she will throw it in my face saying that I go to our bedroom to sleep when I am laying down listening to sermons and talk shows on Christian radio. This is where I keep my center.
I think I am running out of steam because I long for intimacy, not just sex, but cuddling and being told that she loves me. I did get a Valentine's Day card from her. She even signed it, Love C. Her first name begins with C. I thought I wasn't going to get one until she gave it to me this morning. She got it yesterday before I came home from my part time job.
------------------
God Bless,
Rob
regilmor@swbell.net
