Well, I've been keeping up the contact with my husband. Our topic of conversation has centered around skiing for the most part. While he hasn't said he will take me, he sure seems enthused about my plans. I have (or at least had) great hope that he will be willing to go with me to teach me how to ski.
That is, if the slug lets him out to play.
I called him Saturday morning to talk to him about the skis and stuff I've been bidding on over at ebay. Saturday evening I stopped by and we chatted about skiing and other things. He was quite animated and chatty.
Sunday, I went over around 8:45pm to say hello and to give him his V-day card and the little gift I had gotten him. I didn't bring the stuff in, because there were a few people there yet. About 5 minutes after I got there, the slug walked in. I casually took the soda I'd just gotten, went and sat down. They talked for a few minutes and then she left. I stuck around and we talkded some more. He had forgotten to something that day for work which was a moderately time-consuming task, and as it got later and later (well after closing) I began to wonder why the phone hadn't been ringing. I followed him into the kitchen as we talked and then we both came back out.
Guess who was standing at the counter!
Yup, she came back. I put my coat on and deliberately and confidently left without saying good bye to my husband. Got in my car and looked back to see her storm up to the counter, slam her purse down on the counter and then storm back into the kitchen ... I think that she might have been a tad upset. Gee, I'm sorry! NOT!
No nasty emails yet, however. I plan to talk to him briefly tomorrow about a couple of things, so I will see how he is with me.
I didn't want confrontation exactly, so I didn't say anything to her, nor did I even acknowledge her presence. I think I did good. Certainly no love busters there. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Plus I got to keep all my teeth right where they belong in my own mouth! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Anyway, just wanted to update everyone ... I'm still hanging in there and still alive!
Talk to you all later!
------------------
terri
I believe in miracles...

well done girl.....
I love it.......
I could just see you calmly putting your coat on, and walking out as if she wasn't even there. That would be infuriating - to her - but do we care ??? No, no, no !!!
Keep up the good work, and if those emails come, which they probably will, just have a laugh at her expense, and then share them with us so we can have a laugh too !!
hugs to you
Jo

Time for a better response. Haven't been feeling up to par, just some kind of cold thing going on... very tired but not at all "down" which is a good thing.
I called the place he works on Tuesday, making a point of asking if he was busy instead of simply asking to speak with him. I was told he was - and so I asked them to let him know I'd called and I would call back later that afternoon. About 2:00, he called me back. I was surprised. I asked him if work had been busy, then asked him for directions to a ski shop he'd suggested I go to for good deals on clothes and equipment. We didn't talk long, but his mannerism and tone did not indicate he was at all uncomfortable, so I felt much better after I got off the phone.
This afternoon I called him and asked him what he was doing tomorrow. He told me he wasn't sure - he had to pay some bills and he might have to work on his car. I told him that I'd like to take him out to lunch for his birthday. He said he wasn't sure what he'd be doing. This is a typical answer from him, and many times, he's surprised me by showing up. It's about 50-50.
But he didn't seem at all reluctant or uncomfortable, so I was again happy with the conversation. After both calls, I told him I love him as we said goodbye.
Keeping up the PMA and contact!
I thank you all for your enthusiasm and support - it means a great deal to me. There aren't too many people who support my actions right now - you folks here are pretty much it. And I appreciate it soooooo much.
------------------
terri
I believe in miracles...

terri, I don't see how you & others do it. I mean if I was in the same building with wankboy, one of us would probably die. Never met him & I pray I never do.
Much stronger than I am & congrats. I think you handled it supremely!
