TNT,<P>Are you on Windows 95, 98 or NT?<P>I take it you want to find a list of installed software?... right?<P>What is even more important... is finding the software that is "running" in a stealth(hidden) mode.<P>I'm on my NT machine right now so the "registry key" that documents the "Most Recently Run" programs(even the stealth ones) may be slightly different. (I'll check on my 95 machine later tonight!)<P>In general... what you need to do to find those programs that have been running recently is...<P>1. Click on "Start"...then "Run..."... then type in ===> regedit<BR>then hit the enter key.<P>(this puts you into the "registry editor"...<BR>... be careful here...<BR>... change no values!...)<P>2. Now click on the "Edit" menu item... then "Find..."... then <BR>type in ===> RunMRU<BR>then hit the enter key<P>3. A list will eventually show up on the right hand side...<P>This gives you a list of most recently run programs (even stealth ones)..<P>Note: you may have to press F3 to get to other lists.<P>Note: names of programs may be cryptic... if there are some names you "suspect" as being stealth monitoring programs... (e-mail me the names)...<P>If it beings with <B>SYS</B> it's a good chance it is a stealth.<P>Jim

If your worried that your partner is going to find something on your machine, and are bothered by possible snooping activity then take whatever it is you don't want them to find off your computer now, and stop engaging in the activity (or be upfront with them that you are engaging in it.). Total honesty is one of the basic needs guys. That includes sneaking around. (The same goes for those using snooping devices) If your partner doesn't know you check up on them you are being dishonest with them as well. Agree to check up on each other, or not check up on each other. (POJA) The only reason to secretly monitor someone's activities is to gather information to get a divorce. You've kind of defeated the purpose of plan A by doing that.

Beth,<P>You are right, in some ways. Snooping doesn't help us stay focused on our plan A efforts. <P>But, also - without a law people would be out of control. A curb keeps the car in the road. Well, some of our spouses need some accountability.<P>My husband isn't big into the computer, but I have caught him snooping on me. <P>Most of what I have to say, that I know he would find objectionable is on the MB forum. He would have a fit if I shared some of the feelings I have, or the needs I have with another human being. He knows I post here, and he just turns the other way. We've kind of adapted a "don't ask, don't tell" kind of policy, concerning my postings at MB.<P>If I didn't post here, it would have been over a long time ago. And in many ways, I think the Lord knew I need the support and direction.<P>So, I think we should only snoop when we need the information to know if they are cheating or not, or to try and help them stay within the curb. But if it is detering us from the plan A efforts, then I think we are better off not snooping.<P>

TNT,<P>I rechecked on my Windows 95 machine...<P>The registry key you want to look at is <BR>My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run<P>You can "drill" down, once you are in the Registry Editor(regedit)... to find the values.<P>You should see a "SysTray.exe"...<BR>If you list the rest... any stealth running programs (defined when you boot the system) should appear here!<P>Also look at the RunMRU keys as mentioned earlier.<P> <P>Jim
