My H and I went to our first counseling appt last night. I layed low. Since he hasn't really spoken and he seemed chatty last night. The topic of him changing jobs came up. He said that he was only changing jobs because I had suggested/requested it. But that seems to be the extent of his effort. It stops with him getting the job. So what am i accomplishing. I get no "real" discussions, I have no real feeling that he loves me and whenever someone asks about him getting a new job he says "yes, now we can drive together" with the new job, we can commute together. the OW is still at work. why remove him from her. what am i truly accomplishing? i do not feel any better knowing he will not be near her. there are other ways if he truly does want her or someone else. he isn't able to hold me or talk to me or make love to me. all i have gotten is a job change and he is staying at home...us getting back together is important...my psychological well being is important...so he changes jobs...he isn't interacting with me anyway...
sorry to ramble...just my thoughts...

Hey---
He's changing jobs, and you got him to a counseling session!!! Sounds great, so far!

quote:
I get no "real" discussions, I
have no real feeling that he loves me ...
he isn't able to hold me or talk to me or make love to me. all i have gotten is a job change and he is staying at home...
..he isn't interacting with me anyway...

Sounds like he's in withdrawal...it will probably take him a while to be able to get back in touch with his feelings for you and be able to rebuild them. BUT, withdrawal can't be completed very successfully til he's separated from the OW. So, you see, you've actually accomplished a lot!!!
Now, all you need are to keep up Plan A behavior while he goes thru withdrawal (which is hard). Beth and I are signing up for patience injections [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]; want to join us?
Hang in there--
Kathi
