What a busy weekend! I spent my Saturday helping a friend with an open house/customer appreciation day at her new shop … exhausting but fun!
I spent a few hours with my husband at work on Sunday afternoon... I got skis I had purchased on ebay and wanted him to see them.
I was getting ready to go out to return bottles to the grocery store, and he called to tell me that if I was coming over to the pizzeria, not to come over too late. I think because slug either was coming over after work or he had to be there after work. Whatever it was it was most likely slug-related.
I told him I'd be over after doing the bottle run. And so I got there about 3:45pm. I had planned to stay a short time and then go home and do housework. I figured I'd get something to eat and chat a little bit. So I ordered an eggplant parm dinner, and when the salad came out, I went up to the counter and asked my husband for a little mozzarella cheese to put on it. I don't generally do that - matter of fact, I think only twice before have I gotten cheese for my salad. Then, before I put the cheese on the salad, I tasted a little of it -YUCK! it was horrible! Tasted like there was some kind of machine oil or something in it. I went back up and told him about it...
He tasted it and another employee tasted it - same reaction. He put that bucket of cheese aside and got another one - that one tasted yucky, too! That started a frantic search for a *good* bucket of cheese! After they found several more buckets of bad cheese, he called the boss and she said she was coming down... So he asked me to move my car (I'd parked it in the back of the pizza place and come in through the kitchen) so the boss wouldn't get mad.
I mentioned jokingly that he probably never wanted me to eat there again, and he very seriously stated that it was a good thing I did, because they wouldn't have known about it so early if I hadn't noticed it. They did have to replace one pizza that had been sold already from the bad bucket, but last I knew that was the only one that had gotten through.
After the boss left, I went up to chat with him a bit before leaving. He asked me about my work, we talked a little about that, then it was like the floodgates opened and he talked and talked! We discussed the web, Netscape, ISP's, motorcycles, motorcycle racing (I "worked" our very first vacation together into the conversation about bike racing, since it was to see Grand Prix bike racing in Laguna Seca California). Then we talked about motorcycle engines and then this idea he has for a new type of engine .... he told me he was looking into motorcycle repair school in Daytona and Orlando and we talked a bit about that ... several times, I said I had to get going and he would bring up something new to talk about...
During the course of the conversation, I had written something on a piece of paper. It was the username and password of a yahoo.com email account I had created in hopes that he might be willing to use it at least for me to send him stuff. While we were discussing his idea, I finally got up the courage and handed him the piece of paper. He asked me what it was and I explained that there were many times I wished I could email him stuff, so I had created this email account for him to use. He asked me about how to access it, and that was about it.
I asked him today if he'd had a chance to look at it, and he said no, he hadn't. I told him I'd sent him a couple of URLs for plastics stuff (having to do with his idea) and he again asked me about how to type the address and password in. And a little while ago, I went into the account and there is no new mail! I double-checked the inbox, and there was my message, READ! He DID look at the account!
If only I had a clue what all this means … [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

------------------
terri
I believe in miracles...

terri,
Gee, all of my usual rants and ravings about how evil secrets are...why, they just fall to the wayside on this one. After all, there's nothing wrong about secrets between a husband and wife! Oh man do I love this secret email account you started. Its just dripping with irony. Just dripping.
Bystander

[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Thanks everyone! I am glad to have the opportunity to email him things, since I find all kinds of stuff that he'd be interested in. Stuff that I doubt the slug is aware of in her dim and egocentric consciousness...
[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
------------------
terri
I believe in miracles...

Quick update ... I've sent several messages this week, and so far all have been read. He seems to enjoy getting the emails I've sent - of course they are mostly all links to things he's interested in. All have been signed "Love" so he knows I'm not "just being a friend."
He confuses the heck outta me.
------------------
terri
I believe in miracles...
