bc,
Have you been able to find an AA family support group for yourself? You have two major issues to deal with, which is 2 much for 1! No one on earth deserves to carry this burden by themselfs (sp? I am horrible at spelling - public schools swithced from phonics to something else just when I needed to learn! I do not know how to spell check the MB site.)
Bc, Your h is lost right now. It is not your fault. You did not cause this. However, it is yours to deal with. Please ask for help, or just go listen to how others have coped during such times. I do think it is good your h admits he might have a problem. I do think I see him asking for help in a very round about way. You just cannot take anything he says personally. As much as YOU need support and care right now, it just will not be from your h. Don't be disapointed, or feel rejected. It is not YOU. I do see him softing a little. I could be wrong. I think the best thing you could do for your FAMILY including yourself, children, and your Husband, is to join a support group for families of alcholoics. Again, you would be the leader of the family. And you ARE up to the challenge. I just know it. Many people (across the goble) are praying for YOU and your family. Take care.
Victoria
P.S. Bc, you have so much to deal with - try not to think in terms that your marriage is over. That is not your focus right now. It might be, you might file for divorce, ask him to move, etc. Fine. Just think in terms of you are doing these things to lead your family toward happiness. Do what you feel is best, do what others advise you who you trust. Just do not focus on the "this means my marriage is over". Leave that up to God. You never really know the results of or impact on others of you putting your faith in God, and you acting responsible, leading your family toward peace. The outcome may be your marriage will not survive, or it may be after time the breakthur that results in a different outcome. Please do not try to cope with the grief of losing a marriage at this time. Do what you need, think in terms of I am leading my family toward peace, leaving the eventual outcome to God. Others who know your details can offer you a path, do as they say if you trust their advise. Just keep your mind focused on going TOWARD peace, and calm. Your h may follow you later, even if you are divorced. H obviously can live with someone not being married to him! It could well be you at some point! I do hope this helps you. If you find anything that just feels totally wrong, you certainly do not have to do as I suggest. God did give us free will! And I am certainly not an expert by any means! I do support you and your family with my thoughts and prayers, as are many others, no matter what path you choose to follow. Take care.
