Funny, the things a wayward spouse can sometimes say and the response evoked. She's still in denial/withdrawl with her OM, a former co-worker. This morning, a comment was made by my wife about a recently widowed (6 months ago) female co-worker.
Apparently, even though the co-worker is still in mourning (crying at work, showing old pictures of husband, talking about sadness and loss, etc.), my wife has been seen her in the parking lot at work passionately kissing another man in her car.
After going on for several minutes about the co-worker's distasteful situation and how could she do that, my wife commented "How can she claim to be in mourning when she's obviously involved with another man?".
I'm afraid I took the opportunity to love bust and say "At least her husband is dead".
Although no comment was made, it was an obvious LB that I only slightly regretted having said. I was just hoping for a little more sensitivity from her when discussing women and their OM's.
Plan A, Plan A, Plan A........ just have to keep trying to keep my feelings in check.
Ok, a little LB. Happens to everyone.
Personally, I kinda liked your response...I would've had to bite my tongue hard to keep quiet had I been in your shoes...
Hang in there--
Kathi
I know the feeling well. I've had to wipe the blood off my chin many times from biting my tongue. I'm getting better - and my tongue is toughening up nicely. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Good luck.
Slightly Sane
