I was given the assignment of writing myself a letter from my H that asked for my forgiveness. It was to acknowledge my hurt and all the things I felt he did wrong. <P>As I began writing, I saw many things I had shoved under the carpet that hurt my feelings. I saw many opportunities for healing pain before things ever got this far. I revisited many painful episodes, but I also saw the chance for the hurt feelings to dissipate. I saw the love and the pain that he must have felt for failing me. I saw the chance for a different future. (not together, but one with a lack of animosity).<P>Though the letter was NOT written by my H and the forgiveness was not asked for by him, the symbolism was still very powerful and helped me to let go.<P>I am sharing this with you in case you are experiencing trouble with forgiveness. It might be something you'd like to try to get in touch with your feelings of pain and for letting go. I hope it helps someone.
