I don't know what to do!!!!
I decided to go on a trip with my family, as my husband really wants me to go...but now...OMG...my mom has been in an accident in another state and I don't know if I should go to her or go with my family.
H and I are seperated for 5 weeks now, he had a 2 year affair. I'm plan Aing my butt off, and he is coming around a bit. At first I told him I would not go on this trip with him and the kids, then he called me and told me he had a "vision" about this trip and it was important to him that I go.
Today I got a call that my mom was in an ATC accident (yes, a 67 year old on a four-wheeler ATC!!) and is being taken to another town for surgery, has a very deep laceration, broken ribs, broken shoulder. I am the most awful, selfish daughter in the world, but I want to be with my H and kids this weekend.
I know you guys can't tell me what the right thing to do is, but how horrible would I be to go on the trip with my family and let my sister fly to my mom, and then I'll go when I get back? My mom knows all about the trip, I spoke with her this morning before her accident and my mom knows how important this is to me.
I guess I just want to relieve my guilt. Will my husband think I am a fool for going with him under the circumstances? Will he think I have handled it great to go ahead and go with him and not be a mess?
I know I have to figure this one out for myself, and very quickly...as I'm leaving in the morning...either to be with my H or my mom.
What would you guys do?
Can you go to your Mom for a day or two and join your apouse and kids a little later?
I would try to do both if at all possible. If that's impossible, then I have no answer. I would be torn, too. Your husband may respect you for your decision to go to your Mom, though he might not like it and then there's this important opportunity for you and your husband to perhaps repair your family...also extremely important.
Catnip =^^=

Catnip
How about everyone (including H) going to your mother's showing support for her. I am sure it would benefit your Mother and it would be a family trip for you all to be with H and you could plan the other trip for another time.
Love and Prayers!!
J W

Your mom is injured, but not critically. Your sister can go now, and you can go after your family trip. Your spouse wants you to go on the family trip, and it is really important to him.

quote:
My mom knows all about the trip, I spoke with her this morning before her accident and my mom knows how important this is to me.

GO ON THE TRIP!!! Then, afterwards, go see your mom & relieve your sister.
Hugs--
Kathi

Allison--
VERY tough one! Under the circumstances, let sis go out there...go on your trip w/family...take LOTS of pictures and keep a special journal for mom. Jot down thoughts and let the kids add to it! Add momentos of the trip (postcards, etc). When you visit her, you'll have pictures and the journal to give her!
Laura

Talk to your mom again.I bet she'll more than understand your dilema.I'd go with H and when I came back I'd be off to see my mom. Your marriage has to come first, especially since your mother is not in critical condition.Make it up to her by helping her when she gets out of the hospital. There are many ways to show you care.Your H obviously has some expectations for your trip, you can't miss that.Good luck.
[This message has been edited by mthrrhbard (edited June 16, 2000).]
