I was just posting on another topic and realized that I have a lot of advantages in my marriage that I have not used to my favor. My H has said I am the only female friend he's ever had. He says I am the smartest woman in the world. He thinks I am also the prettiest. He has never lost his sexual attraction to me. He thinks I am a great mother. He trusts me with business and money. He admires my fidelity... etc
Anyway, I have a very strong resistance to imposing my will on others and so I always allow them to make their own choices. I don't like to manipulate situations because I believe love should be given freely to be worthy of accepting. So, I haven't actually ever tried to do anything to win my H back except just be open to the possibility and just be nice and cooperative to him when he's around. Needless to say, I have not been assertive at all.
Should I be? Should I use all my advantages to my benefit? If so, do you have any suggestions as to how? How can I do this without being manipulative or exploiting the situation (very important to me!)
Yes, I know I said I didn't really care, but I've given myself a time deadline. I have made a pact with myself to do what I could until a certain date and after that, I feel I have no further obligation to talk to him, deal with him or drag this out any longer. I am just ready to go on, but not without exploring all realistic options.
The clock is ticking, so if you have any suggestions, please send them my way.
