Right after posting earlier this afternoon, I got of the computer and guess who should call? That's right, my ex! He tells me he has been trying to get in touch with me to ask me if I wanted to meet him at the zoo with the kids. I about fell on the floor. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Of course, I accepted.
Nothing major happened and I feel I did a good job not bringing up ow. Everything went smoothly. Maybe...just maybe...he is FINALLY coming around even if it is after the divorce. I don't want to get too excited, but it is definitely a BIG step in the right direction.
Tulip

Hi Tulip,
That is such wonderful news! It gives hope to all of us whose lives are swriling out of control. How long since the Divorce? Is he still with OW? Sorry, but I don't know the details in your story.
I hope you just have the best time at the zoo with your H and kids...it's just like it should be isn't it? I know it's hard to not get your hopes up, but he's thinking...and that is great.
Best of luck
allison

Allison,
Actually our divorce was final in June. I never expected him to be nice and certainly not this soon. I can't say for sure if he is still seeing ow romantically, but I know they are still in contact as "friends." He says he wants to stay in contact because she listens to him and I wouldn't. Hmm...sounds like a good need to start trying to meet. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
He stopped by today to drop off some clothes that the kids left at his place. Funny thing is he would have never made the effort before. I just keep hoping that he is seeing that the grass is not greener over there. He tells me that the longer he is away from me the more he remembers all the good times. Maybe that is a good sign too. I'm just trying to hang in there and see what happens.

Lori,
Thanks! It sounds like he just might!
As for the listening thing..... Oh boy nothing like an open invitation to plan A!!! Be sure when you are at the zoo together you only have eyes and ears for him.
