I noticed you posted straight after me on the profession thread.
How are you today?
Hope you're well, and surviving the school holidays.
I've got friends arriving from Syd. soon so I won't be on much longer. I've been checking to see if you've been posting.
It's so good to know that someone else from my hometown is on here too. Sad, that we're both going through this, but good that this site exists.
Is it too soon to ask where you live? I don't know what the etiquette is for that, so if you don't respond I certainly won't be offended.
There's an ambulance station not very far from my house, (Keperra I think it is) and everytime I drive past it, I think of medic and you.
Now that makes it really sound as though I'm loopy....
seeing ambulances and thinking of men I don't even know........
I'm not like that, really. You'll have to trust me on that one......... LOL
take care of you, and hope your situation is improving.
Jo
Just give a wave to those you see it just may be me. So whenever I get a wave Im sure you will get one in return.
I have asked my W out on date next week and she has agreed. That made my day a little better. I just hope its not the parting of ways. Ill keep positve and intend to have great time.
I have had a great school holidays eh. My wife asked to have our yd and after two days and then sent her off to her friends home. Looks like she misses having her there. Last night she gave me some bull**** story on where she was and why my YD went to her friends. Ill get off my high horse Ive said enough. I dont want to go there and keep positive for next week.
have a great time with your friends while they are here. Im glad you didnt join Virgin Blue, hahahaha
Ill be watching for you. Have to go to work tomorrow wont be back until sunday
bye for now
tim

bonnet, I don't mean to bust in on your thread but your post just made me laugh out loud! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Thinking about men you don't even know when you see ambulances etc.., I do the same goofy stuff... HEY, WHAT'S WRONG WITH GUYS IN AMBULANCES!!!
I have a great life, well, minus the marriage problems.
I don't know about Timtam, Hey fellow EMSer [my name is Tim as well, wierd, huh] but the thrill of reaking havok in traffic patterns still hasn't subsided over the last 22 years.
Something about going north in the southbound lanes of a divided highway. You would be surprised how fast people get out of your way when you come head on.

We have it tough. Watch pay TV when it gets slow. Have the best parking spot at the mall to go shopping. It's called the fire lane.
We get discounts at the fast food joints. You get to be a social butterfly at the hospitals flirt. I just love women in white. It's OK, I'm 30 days away from a D if and when I sign.
Poop, where was I going with this, oh yeah, HEY, WHAT'S WRONG WITH GUYS IN AMBULANCES!!!

------------------
"It's not over till we say it's over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? H*ll no!" Blutto...Animal House 1984
Wishing us all the Best.
Medic

Hi Tim (tam - not medic!!!!!!)
I'll get to you later Medic!!!!!
Ok, I give up. I still don't know this side of Brisvegas very well, but when you guys all chat amongst yourselves, and someone says...
"hey, have you seen that dippy bird that waves at ambulances all the time" , you, and only you, will know who it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But you'll have to slow down. You won't see me waving if you're doing 160 down the freeway!!!!!!! You too Medic......
I'm glad you've asked your W out on a date. I know for me personally that if my H had done that a bit more, we probably wouldn't be where we are now. I hope it goes well. Don't LB whatever you do....(I could never help myself but I'm sure you'll do better than I ever did.)
Where do you think you'll go? Out for dinner, or a picnic, or the movies....
I went to Mt Coo-tha yesterday and had a coffee, that place is just beautiful. My family used to to go there when we first emigrated quite a bit, to see the new hometown. I go there now to try and get used to living here again. Brisbane is a beautiful place from up there.
Keep up the good work, and keep posting here. This place helped me through so much, really made me look inside myself and accept my faults, and his. We are all human after all. But being here also made me realise that the affair was not my fault. That was his choice, and his only. That is something he has to live with.
Good luck on your date, have a lovely one.

MEDIC - where you been boy??????
I posted on Mitzi/Murphy's thread, you know, the one that goes for days......
and said that although I loved cooking and entertaining, I don't think I would ever serve bath bombs.....
I think I need to move back in with you, if you're going to start that marlarky......
Are you going to sign the papers? How are things going with Val? I haven't caught up with your story, in fact, I can't find it. Have you not been posting, or have I missed them all?
take care of you my friend, and slow down. You gave me the fright of my bloody life the other day - I had music blaring in the car and didn't hear you come up behind me......
you guys must get the biggest hoot out of seeing my face................
hugs to you
Jo

Hi Jo
Had the greatest day today I felt on top of the world and nobody could have bought me down. I had such a busy day, had to fly down Gympie Road all the way from Herston to Bald Hills in peak hour traffic what a hoot. Im sure medic would have been proud. I hope that wasnt you I followed about two feet up their but for Ks. I certainly didnt wave to them the normal way. We dont always drive that fast all the time we do need time to check out the talent sometimes [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I dont know how to use the icons yet. That will have to do.
Alright alright I work at Eatons Hill moving to the new station tomorrow. We have been stuck in a industrial shed in Brendale while the new station was being built. Yes I asked around if anyone has seen a dippy bird waving, just kidding [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] No cruising past eh. Its right behind the garage. It will be a big difference to where we have been.
Im taking the W out to Gambaro's the seafood restrauant in the city. It's is supposed be the best in Brissy. I just loooooove seafood.Hope the company will just as great. I intend getting two roses for her, as I sent her one two weeks ago. Ill keep adding one each time we meet. I should start getting shares in a rose farm if it takes as long as the others here. I phoned my YD today at her friends home and told her we were going out on Monday and she sounded so exicited to hear it. I wont blow it whatever the outcome. I am so bloody nervous now thinking about it. Now I sound dippy, like a teenager going out on their first date.
If you like to go driving check out Mt Mee on the Samford-Dayboro road. The view is just breath taking. There is a little restrauant up there you could stop for a bite to eat.
You sound like a tourist cruising around the city with your friends. Im sure you are having a ball with them here.
Did you find the book I suggested. Ive read it so many times now and even taken notes to remind me that I cant change anyone else except me.
Hugs to you until next time. I keep an eye out for a blonde waving frantically
Tim

hey Tim,
I've never, ever heard of Eatons Hill or Brenndale. Like I said, I'm new to this side of town, and so much has changed in the whole of Brisbane in the 13 years I've been away.
Have to look that up in the refedex, but I promise, no cruising..........
Gambaro's sounds wonderful. I've only ever bought seafood from the takeaway section next door to the Caxton..... that wonderful fantastic place, the Caxton. I used to go there when I was about 19/20, when they had the jazz band on Sat. afternoons. Many great times were spent there.
I must admit I'm having a lot of fun playing the 'tourist'. I went to Manly for the first time yesterday, it's beautiful down there. I had the same sort of day that you obviously did, I was in a FANTASTIC mood. (Maybe because H had gone to Melbourne for 2 days on business!!!) I sat on the promenade overlooking the water, and it was so peaceful. I think I'd love to live down there.
The roses for your W is a beautiful idea. What a romantic you are. How could she not look at you with new eyes.....well...... she probably will.... Keep doing that, us girls just looooooove all that 'stuff'.
It sounds as tho you are getting a lot of support from your children. That's great. Sometimes I wish mine were a little older, but then I have other times where I'm so glad they are too young to really understand what has happened. Our relationship (mine with H) has managed to stay friendly and civil, and we're reaping the rewards now. The girls are so settled here, they ring him anytime, and he rings them anytime. I don't think he realises that I am going ahead with the D in 6 weeks time. I think he thinks that because I have stopped discussing it with him, I have changed my mind. Again, it's him avoiding conflict. He's the biggest conflict avoider I have ever met. His whole family is. Rather than sort out issues, they stop talking to whoever is giving them the problem.!!!!!! They all have quite a few family members that they no longer speak to. I can't imagine living like that. My sister and I have had some rough times over the years, but through it all, have always managed to stay close and loving, and get through it. I really feel for those who can't or won't do that. I can't imagine not speaking to my sister, my mum or my dad.
Anyway, you have some wonderful times ahead of you by the sounds of it, but also a rollercoaster ride like you have never been on before. I tried to find your earlier posts, but can't. So I don't know your story. That's ok, you wouldn't be here if everything was wonderful.......
I hope your date goes the way you want it to, and that she sees what she is throwing away.
take care of you, and look out for that dippy blonde........
hugs,
Jo

Hey, Jo,
OK, you asked so here it goes, My pathetic update.
I was totally fed up with the crap that has been going on for the last 15 months. I hate the way Val is fence sitting and the wishy washy answers and behavior I have been getting. Time to give up.
July is a sucky month for me. My Bday July 2, her Bday July 8, our anniversary July 22.
Believe it or not, my FXW and two sons had a Bday party for me. I hit the big 40 this year. I still look years younger, must be the many years of ETOH preserving me.
My son told the X that I was having problems accepting the end of the M and he was very concerned. Mood swings, foaming at the mouth, biting little kids, stuff like that.
She [Toni] chatted with me outside on the patio. Asked how things were going. Told her I was going to give Val a great Bday present, the final document to end this poop. She asked if that is what I truly wanted and talked me out of it. Can you believe that?
Talking with T2 she thinks I have unresolved issues and suggested counseling. Told her we did the M thing, no, you [underlined] should go. Said she sees the anger I hold within and it will eat me up.
So, as of right now the last time I spoke with my W is July 3rd. She called, I was surprised, didn't think I would hear from her for a while. I brought up the taboo subject of the M when I spoke to her on my Bday. I know I should have probably called her on the 8th to wish her a Happy Bday, but, I'm sure she would not have been there. So, why bother?
I will say that she [Val] has given me so many chances to show her the new and improved Zippy and I keep messing it up. Maybe Toni is right and I need to get some counceling or at least some meds again. I'm running out of Valium and MSO4.
Hope things are going better for you.
Zippy the Pinhead. Oh I hope y'all don't mind by popping in to your posts here - have been posting with Tim and I guess this spiked my curiosity about where you live - ok, am I a ditz - are y'all in Australia? If so, I have always wanted to visit!! My father was there during the war, almost married a girl from Sydney and absolutely loved your country...(can you tell from my use of "y'all" that I live in southern USA? - ha!)
Tim, I have to say that your plan with the roses - how romantic!- would melt my heart!! Wishing you all the best!!! A

Hi medic238
Only new here and haven't read back that far to get your previous history regarding your relationship and all its problems
What I read this isn't the best month for you eh [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Having your annivisary an B day's in the same month have really set you up for downer. I supposed there comes a time when we have to draw a line in the sand and say that's it finally over. Only you know when you have tried everything possible.
On a lighter note I would be interested in exchaging info on how the A service there operates and the training, equipment ect you use. My EMail add is tima@thelanddownunder.com please reply as it seems we have more in common than our first name.
Jo, if your still here on this thread I am only ten minutes drive from Grovely is that close enough. Its west of Aspley, do I have to go through every suburb on the northside so you can get your bearings. I bet that street directory is well used by the sound of your reply. I hate getting lost and not knowing where Im going.
You spoke of conflict avoiding in the out laws side thats sounds exacly what I have to put to with. W sister had a big argie with all of us four years ago and none of her family have spoken to her since. I feel for her children having no contact with there gandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins for so long.
I havent spoken to W since I asked her out. I often wonder what's going on, why do I always seem to have to contact her when she never calls. I tried something different today sent her an email of some jokes from the web and have not had any reply as yet.
I put my first post at begining of june. If you use the search icon and type in my user name it should come up.
Yes you can send an email if you want to.
You have a great surprise for H coming up I wouldn't like to be in his shoes then. I hope its not revenge you are after [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
lol until next time
Tim
PS keep off the roads friday night Im working the N/S

Hey medic,
I'm sorry. I wish I could wipe this July for you. But happy happy Birthday for the other day. You don't look a day over 30.......
Your FXW sounds great. What she said to you made me think that she is a genuine person. Is it what you really want? I know for me personally, I just want to end the most painful period of my life. The D is the way to go for me. H still 'wants and needs' more time, or so he says. He obviously has found another patch of green!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe this will be greener than the last.....
It doesn't really matter any more what I want, or think I want, or feel, or what I think I feel. He is also sitting on the fence, and being wishy washy. This could go on for years, and I need to get some closure on this.
Have you spoken to Val lately? Have you had any more icecream? Maybe another try for a date is the way to go....... Not telling you what to do, but you just sound a bit fed up at the moment. I guess that's the hardest part for us, when do we call it quits. My D can be filed on Sep 4, and I have every intention of doing so. I can't see any other solution to this, when he is not interested in even trying for a reconciliation.
Sending you big hugs my friend, take care
Jo

Annc - yes, I live in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. I have just had two years in Sydney, hated the first year and loved the second. I would live there again now. It's funny you mentioned about your Dad and the girl he almost married in Sydney. Because of the Olympics, we have had a lot of letters from people overseas asking the most funny questions. Questions like:
I met a girl in Sydney after the war, can you help me find her, but I can't remember her name!!!! (Is that for real???)
Does north and sound run the same way in Australia?
Can I buy shoes in Australia?
Can I walk and follow the traintracks from Perth to Sydney? (well yes, you could, but you'd be walking a mighty long time tho!!!)
Do kangaroos bite?
and the list goes on. I'll have to cut them out of the paper next time they're printed, and post some others here. Some are hysterical.
Hey timtam,
thought of you last night as we munched caramel timtams!!!!!! I do know where Grovely is, well, I know Dawson's Parade anyway. There's a suburb sign on that road that says Grovely. I will really look into ambulances now........
Can I come to one of your parties? Aren't you guys the same as the police/nurses parties? Wild..............just joking, I couldn't handle wild times now, a bit too old!!!!!! I feel 100 today, I think I'm losing my voice and have a really sore throat. Can I dial 000 for that???????
My refedex is a bit worn, but gee I'm having fun exploring Brisbane. Lucky my children don't get car sick.
have a great day, isn't this weather divine. I should be out and about doing things, but I'm having a rest at home day today. I did sit in the sun and have a coffee with a girlfriend, but now I want to sleep.
take care of you, and keep looking forward to your date.
Jo

Hey Jo,
T2 and I just got back from work. We were in the truck for almost 17 hours straight. Must have put on close to 400 miles on it. Had to hit Philly 3 times and a bunch of short trips.
If business keeps up like this I may get to retire earlier than my planned 5 years. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I was surprised at Toni's remark and her ability to listen to me babble about Val. I know she still cares and admitted it was a mistake for us to D. She wanted to get back at me. Now regrets it.
Haven't spoken to Val since the 3rd of July. I know I should have at least called on her Bday, but, it gets frustrating to hear she is never home. Guess what my first thought it as to where she is? [insert guess here] Yep, that's right! I don't need the added agrivation.
I'll post more later, eyes starting to burn.

Hey Timtam,
I will take you up on the offer. I'll hopefully send you our Regional Councils Web Addy tomorrow. You can view our protocols and some other items, there.
Right now my service is BLS, but, I have all the items to go into the ALS arena. When I find the time and energy. That will open up a new realm for us. It's been years since I defibrillated myself.
Catch up with you guys in the morn,
Zippy
------------------
"It's not over till we say it's over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? H*ll no!" Blutto...Animal House 1984
Wishing us all the Best.
Medic
