One of my H's emotional needs that I was not meeting before his affair was sex. Before I found out about the affair, I was trying to meet his emotional needs, including sex. He is now telling me that sex has been better than ever physically, but he gets no emotional satisfaction from it- it's sex only, not making love. He is not admitting his affair yet- I think he is not having physical contact now, but is probably continuing communication.
My question is this... I too am enjoying sex, but notice the lack of closeness that we used to feel. This continues to be one of his needs. Should I continue, or is the lack of emotional satisfaction making him more aware of the lack of feeling that we have right now? Making him more resolved in his thinking that we can never again feel what once was there?

After I first found out about my H's A and I knew that sex was a big need for him, we were having sex a lot. I guess I was trying to well, meet that need for him.
Come to find out he was still in contact with the OW and did continue to have sex with her. I WISH I had not been so willing to have sex with him right away as I was exposing myself to countless diseases. This is not something people always consider, but I hope you do. No amount of relationship building matters if you are jeopordizing your life by having sex with someone who is sleeping around.
Now I will not have unprotected sex with him until I know for sure he does not have AIDS or any other diseases. This confirmation may take a year. Just something I wanted you to think about. I will never know completely if I am safe with him. But, I know for sure right now he could possibly expose me to something and I will not risk my life for his needs. Just for you to think about.
I know this is not addressing what you are asking about emotional involvement during sex. Maybe someone else will speak to that.
