OK, I work part time in my H's law office as his legal assistant but I am going to school part time to become the teacher I always wished I had. I am also a full time MOM, Brownie Leader, and a secretary for the Lion Club in our home town. BUSY! After graduating from college, I hung out with 2nd graders for about 6 years. Burned out on that (got tired of all the tattling and uncooperative parents). Worked as a secretary for a start-up cable TV company until they went under and I got laid off. Stayed at home raising my two boys and let my teaching certificate expire. Decided I needed to do something to help pay for my boys "future" college education, so I went back to school myself and became an RN. I do PRN - POP work in the birthing center at a local hospital. I'm thinking about real estate for my next career.

Another executive assistant weighing in (well, that is what I was doing). Worked for the same ERP software company my H works for. Now that he's been transferred and we've moved, I can stay home and play for a while. My reward (?) for surviving his affair?

Great Thread!
I was a waitress/bartender for 30 years. During that time I managed a few restaurants & bars. Even owned one with my Ex and parents. I also managed a marina/party store.
I started schooling for a cosmetology career and changed it to an electrology career. Have done that part time for the last 3 years. Just can't seem to get it off the ground.
Until recently I was an operator for an answering service. Now I am an Assistant in Customer Service at a paper mill. This is new for me. I have never really worked in an office before and now I have my own office, voice mail, and computer. Pretty neat.
Took the job to satisfy my husband, and now I am glad I took it. Six weeks into it and I like it most of the time. Tons to learn so it keeps me content at the moment.
Favorite and most important job though now, is being a good wife and mother. I wish I could do it full time. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
I applaud all of you stay at home Moms and am a little envious. Congrads on a job well done.
------------------
God bless you and all of us. I'm a radio producer. I work on a morning show at a country station, and I also have a hand in two nationally syndicated shows. Some of you may have actually heard my handiwork!

Sorry for breaking the trend, I was not in a "caretaker" career:
I was in the army for ten years before he talked me into getting out and following HIS military career last year. This was a wise move, because two people in the military will most likely not make it in marriage, the 1st obvious reason is that they will spend little time together due to travel.
Besides, first and foremost, I am a mom to my kids and this was and is, of course, my first priority in life. Army and momhood does not work.
Thought that I was making one of those "duh" decisions to get out and leave a career that I really loved to follow my hubby's. (Little did I know that someone else was following it, too.)
Now I am just a mom. . .and loving it. . .but going stir-crazy.

Film producer. Currently working with a 'respectable' broadcaster who has just renegged on their promise to me that I will have a job to come back to after my maternity leave. So technically does that make me unemployed?? Ok how about a mother-to-be as a title.
