I turned 40...days from a year ago...however last year I was busy recovering...still am I guess. Trying to rebuild or add on, to our marriage for sure. Hey how about a sky light for my H's head?
Anyway with family gone I am cleaning up a storm.
I tend to be a bit of a pack rat...and I am confronting that nicely, thank you.
I just found myself almost gleefully pitching all of my leather pumps and suits.
I pretty much quit my job and have decided to pursue a dream of mine, but most of all enjoy and support my family domestically. H's working so much and it has just gotten too chaotic. I want my kids to remember a orderly nurturing home (not that I am going to start baking or anything). Since kids are girls, I also want them to see their mom make these changes and take this opportunity. Sounds healthy enough, anyway.
Then as I am uncharacteristically pitching these perfectly good expensive pumps and having a great time doing it, it hits me.
THIS MAY BE MY MID-LIFE CRISIS...ya think?
I'd only wish my H celebrated his by throwing out his shoes [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Mid-Life is a time when many of us refelect what we did in the past or failed to do.
If you feel better about throwing out those shoes, and it doesn't hurt anyone else. Go for it!!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
On the other had if you throw out the shoes and decide to throw out kids and hubby too, then your ML is in crisis. MLC......
That is what many do not realize, evaluating your life is ok, drastic changes that hurt those around you is not ok and many THEN need help.
Wish my H would seek help for his MLC before it became so distructive.
Enjoy throwing out those shoes, or better yet donate them to a women's shelter or somewhere they can be used....
Good Luck

I am the queen of donating to the Goodwill or some good cause. Actually if you long form, you come out better financially than if you have a garage sale.
I promise absolutely that I will not be destructive in my MLC...if that is what it is.
Actually, except for my H's affair, I have been happy with my life since I was a teen. I really don't "get" people being concerned about their age.
I like 20's better than the teens, 30's much better than the twenties (wild college times excluded, of course which will always be treasured) and except for 1/2 of my 39th year and the first part of 40 I am expecting to like my 40's best yet!
