kam,
You are a Cancer/Earth-Dog
H is a Leo/Fire Rooster
Other Earth (1959 born) Dogs include: Michael Jackson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Bacon, Daley Thomspon.
For Fire Roosters there are only Amanda Plummer and Melanie Griffith listed (I believe Melanie is a Leo as well)]
Yours is not a match made in heaven, my friend.
As an Earth Dog you are reserved, thin skinned and very sensitive. A born worrier. You are a wonder at taking care of others--esp. the less fortunate or those weaker than yourself. You have a great gift for empathy. You are one to work in charity drives, speak out for human rights or abandoned animals or be a caretaker for the elderly.
As a Lady Dog you are affectionate but not at all demonstrative with tenderness--you would more likely bake someone a cake than hold their hand. In the bedroom you also tend to be stiff and deliberate. Your lovemaking often remains wooden and feels contrived, even to you! You don't know how to take it not so seriously and be playful. You can be a willing and loving sex partner but have your reservations about anything you deem kinky or strange. If you are leapt on unawares or an attempt to force you into any compromising position, the Dog woman my bite!
It is not easy for you to surrender, let down your guard and just be.
It is up to your partner to provide reassurance, security, calm your relentless doubts and gentle your troubled spirit. Gentle initiatives is key.
You are somewhat masochistic in that you may unwittingly break up any happpy relationship your are involved in--because you don't believe you deserved to be loved or can be loved as much as you are able to love. You
expect too much from love and marriage and always get less than you bargained for because of your tall order. YOU love too much. And your standards are unreasonably elevated. You may even be attracted to men you may never truly possess (the "wrong" man) to verify this strange masochistic belief.
And as a Cancer Dog: You are so loving, you must always have someone to shower that admiration, indulgence and devotion on. You do not do well without love. It is imperative to your very physical health. You are a bottomless well of emotion.
There will be two big problems your partner must overcome: On the one hand you will seem thoroughly unavailable at times and reluctant to step down from your creativity cloud. On the other, as a loveable bundle of feelings, you may seem to cling to your partner until you choke him. With Cancer/Dogs, it's all or nothing.
Your Male Rooster: 5 things to remember:
1)At first glance, he seems outrageously adventurous but he is really conservative.
2)He is a loyal and devoted friend but is usually too brutally frank and honest.
3)Appearance is everything to him and he bases alsmot all of his snap decisions on what he sees.
4)He is essentially rather misogynous but can be tamed into marriage by a patient and demonstratively loving female partner. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
5)The rearing of children is not his first priority but if he begets them, he sincerely tried to be a responsible father.
As a Rooster man, you have to deal with his streak of sado-masochism i.e. exaggerated game-playing in love situations. He knows how to taunt and frighten you to inflict emotional injury, and then he rependt. He may even invent tales of his sexual infidelitites just to enjoy listening to the sobs and pleas. He gets a kick out of witnessing the maudlin cinema of his own creation. He loves the adventure of it. It's that or nothing. He can be downright mean. He likes to flaunt the power of his love over his partner. Yet when all the screaming and shouting dies down, this man makes for an ardent and faithful mate who secretly yearns only for the reassuring words and caresses of his adored partner.

And this man needs plenty of sex. He enjoys fantasizing about baroque and unusual sexual exploits, imagining how deftly he inflicts pain on his loved one and or conjuring himself as a great romantic figure--which he is decidedly His sexuality is both powerful and attractive. He receives scads of attention and has much opportunity for hanky panky. However, the Rooster man never comes over as truly warm-hearted or loving. His is naturally reserved and afraid of expressing his innermost desires or what he actally feels (rather than what he thinks). Male Roosters are emotionally awkward. Hence the recourse to fantasy and masochism to subsititute for the real thing.
A generic Rooster and Dog Combo:Your compatiblity is ying and yang--incompatible. Rooster demands more and varied sex than Dog has to give. Rooster needs to puff up his ego and preen his feathers. Dog couldn't care less what she looks like in bed. She feels sex rather than performing it. Besides, Dogs are slightly puritanical. They don't believe on should over-indulge in pleasure. Leave this relationship alone. [!]
Now on the flipside: A Leo/Rooster is a devoted soul in long-term relationships[!!] I know, it's so confusing! If he has chosen a mate, then it is usually for life, for a home and children, an organic garden, and a hatchback, pickup and power Rototiller. They usually find more important things to do than to cheat on their spouse!
Leo/Roosters do have enormous mood and temperment swings. Up and down. Bipolar. Great, joyful, dance-thru-the-tulip days mixed with stay-in bed/woe-is-me ones. That's how they are. You can like it or lump it. And if you like it, you'll be sure to love it. The "highs" are exhillerating just as the lows are depressing.
If you are going to love him, you better start accumulating patience. And he needs to be cared for and, most of all, to be listened to and understood. If you can get the food together and keep things on oan even keel around the house, a Leo/Rooster mate will provide years of faithful--and funny, amusing, jolly--service.

Now you know why I didn't give you the compatibility reading first! Did I really get your birthdates right? How did you ever end up married?! You're 7-11-58 and 8-14-57 for your H right? Where you guys on the same charity committee or what?!
Weed out what you want of this, kam. As a down to earth Dog, I'm surprised you would even be interested in astrology. I'm not sure as to what state your marriage is in at the moment. I hope this is helpful in whatever stage you find yourself in.
Doggedly yours, and with Aloha,
Leilana

Thanks for doing this Leilana...
As a down-to-earth type, I've never been interested in astrology much, but was intrigued when I saw some of the others you'd done. You are right, I will have to weed thru this!!!
What came up for us is too funny...Yes, the dates are right, but only a small amount of it sounds right....
Me
"You have a great gift for empathy. You are one to work in charity drives"...True, and I get way too caught up in this type of thing.
"...more likely bake someone a cake than hold their hand" Well, I am a toucher & cuddler by nature, and I hate to cook...
"a willing and loving sex partner but have
your reservations about anything you deem kinky or strange" Hhhmm, well, I do draw the line at animals, but generally I'm more adventurous than my H. He was a bit shocked I think when I bought him a leather c*** ring...
"You are a bottomless well of emotion."...Ah, this one is on-target.
My H
"At first glance, he seems outrageously adventurous but he is really conservative." Actually, he seems conservative at first glance. And second. And third...
"He knows how to taunt and frighten you to inflict emotional injury" Actually, he will go so far to avoid hurting anyone's feelings it is oftn hard to figure out what he wants.
"His is naturally reserved and afraid of expressing his innermost desires or what he actally feels"...This one is right on target.
"enormous mood and temperment swings" I think I saw him mad once in 19 years...he has few ups/downs and is annoyingly even tempered.
"a devoted soul in long-term relationships"...Yeah, he is that.
I'll have to show him this and see what he thinks!
Thanks again--
Kathi

[This message has been edited by kam6318 (edited August 25, 2000).]

kam!
I'm so glad it was way off the mark!
My SIL is a Libra Earth Dog (1958) married to some kind of Wood Rooster (1945) and THAT is one rocky marriage! They've both been guilty of affairs.
She's also a touchy/feely person who doesn't cook! And she's extremely provocative and flirtatious. But as naughty as she is I love her to pieces. She's been a loyal and true friend to me thru out all this mess.
Her H, however, does fit alot of his profile.
Rooster-men like to promote a macho image and often take professions that require a uniform they can swagger in. And guess what, her H is a cop!
I feel much better now, kam. Thanks for the feedback--much relieved!
Happy Recovery!
Aloha,
Leilana
