Khyra,
The artist on this CD is a male vocalist. Usually does gospel, but crossed over with this CD and collaborated with other major artists. The lyrics touched me also, you should hear it put to music! I cry everytime I listen to it.
Alias,
Hope you have as wonderful experience with it as Hurt4Life did! Let us know how your evening went.
Blessings, MT
------------------
True love cannot be found where it doesn't truly exist,
nor can it be hidden where it truly is.

![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif)
today is our 16th anniversary...I'll put in on in the car -- we are going on a family weekend.
Thanks again for the tip. We didn't actually sit and just listen last night, but I played it while I read and my husband worked.
When "I'm in love with you" was playing, he sat and stared as Bebe sang, "There is no excuse for all I have done, and things won't be right till your trust I've won".
If you are reconciled, you will love this CD. It would probably be hard to listen to if you aren't back together.
LIZZIE

If you're into meditation these songs could help with the visualization. Very powerful and moving, I think!
------------------
True love cannot be found where it doesn't truly exist,
nor can it be hidden where it truly is.

This is my recovery song now that I've gotten over grief and moved on to anger. It's by Metallica.
Until It Sleeps
Where do I take this pain of mine
I run but it stays right by my side

So tear me open and pour me out
There's things inside that scream and shout
And the pain still hates me
So hold me until it sleeps

Just like the curse, just like the stray
You feed it once and now it stays
Now it stays

So tear me open but beware
There's things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me until I'm clean

It grips you so hold me
It stains you so hold me
It hates you so hold me
It holds you so hold me
Until it sleeps

So tell me why you've chosen me
Don't want your grip
Don't want your greed
Don't want it

I'll tear me open make you gone
No more can you hurt anyone
And the fear still shakes me
So hold me, until it sleeps

It grips you so hold me
It stains you so hold me
It hates you so hold me
It holds you, holds you, holds you until it sleeps (x4)

So tear me open but beware
There's things inside without a care
And the dirt still stains me
So wash me 'til I'm clean

I'll tear thee open make you gone
No longer will you hurt anyone
And the hate still shapes me
So hold me until it sleeps (x5)
Yeow! Mourning! But whatever gets you thru the day is a good thing, huh?!
Thanx MT, I've listened to it. I found it a little hard to relate to most songs as my H never left home and never wanted to. Maybe I'm too literal minded. I'm also more uptempo than meditative. Interpret: Shallow! But it was beautifully sung and the lyrics aren't trivial like alot of songs you hear.
And I've wanted to ask: How the heck did you remember my username and that I posted that post from 6 months ago? Next time I need someone with a photographic memory, I'm calling you!
Other songs to I'd like to add to this list are George Benson's "The Best of George Benson" that include:
Love x Love
I Just Wanna Hang Around You
Turn Your Love Around
Never Give Up On A Good Thing
and many others that some may find pertinent.
I think Never Give Up and Turn your Love Around as well as Journey's "Open Arms" ballad (now that's one that makes my H cry!)are songs EVERYONE should hear. I've heard of media player.com and wondered if you can hear a specific song - I've never tried it yet but will later.
Anyone have experience with that?
Mahalo nui, MT.
a hui hou,
L
------------------
No rain, no rainbows

Recovery songs - two new, one very old:
Backstreet Boys (or maybe N'Sinc - I get those two groups mixed up) Anyway, the song is "Shape of My Heart"
Our favorite recovery song is "Bent" by Matchbox Twenty. All about helping each other get over the hurt.
This next song is really, really old, but my all time favorite affair song.
Devil Woman, by Marty Robbins. Here are the lyrics:
I told Mary about us, told her about our great sin
Mary just cried and forgave me, Mary took me back again
She said if I wanted my freedom, I could be free evermore
But I don't want to be and I don't want to see Mary cry anymore.
Devil woman, devil woman, let go of me
Devil woman, let me be
Just leave me alone,
I want to go home.
Mary is waiting and weeping alone in our shack by the sea
Even after I hurt her, Mary' still in love with me
Devil woman, it's over, trapped no more by your charms
I don't want to stay, I want to get away, Women let go of my arms.
Devil woman, you're evil like the dark coral reef
Like the winds that bring high tides, you bring sorrow and grief
You made me so ashamed to face Mary, barely had the strength to tell
Skies are not so black, Mary took me back, Mary has broken your spell.

Everhopeful! Oooooh! I just heard "The Shape of my Heart" song this past weekend for the first time and I said "YESSS!!! Thank you, Backstreet Boys!!"
I needed a good Backstreet Boys tune to de-trigger another favorite of OW's by them, "I Want It That Way"--she said she thinks of him whenever it plays. I still love that song but it's got a taint now. Actually, it's kind of reassuring come to think of it if you remember the lyrics. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif)
Also wanted to add here that I asked a favor of my H. If he could choose a song that has special meaning to us or is romantic or reminds him of me and memorize the words and then sing (serenade) me, that it would mean alot to me and it would deposit mucho love units!
My H seems to like this mission and loves to sing so he's already investigating.
We saw the Faith Hill and Tim McGraw "Let's make love" video last nite and he said, "That's a nice one, yeah?" and even THAT deposited a unit knowing he's hearing romantic songs and having ME in mind and also that he's remembering my request and trying to please me.

If anyone's H likes music or likes to sing in the shower and you think he might go for this kind of thing--give it a shot!

------------------
No rain, no rainbows

Many Tears-
Finally got the CD- it was beautiful!
Not exactly a recovery song, but one that I find comfort in:
That's The Beat Of A Heart
by The Warren Brothers on the soundtrack- Where The Heart Is
Sometimes it's hard
You don't want to
Look over your shoulder
Cuz you don't want to
Remember where you've been
There'll come a time
You'd die if you could only hold her
Cuz I know
That's where I am
Chorus
So listen with all your heart
Hold it inside forever
You may find all your dreams
Have already come true
Look inside and find the part
That's leading you
Cuz that's the beat of a heart
Sometimes you'll drown it out
With all your rage and thunder
Sometimes you'll drown it out
With all your old tears
There'll come a time
When you'll hear it and you'll wonder
Where in the world have I been
Chorus
No one can tell you how to get there
It's a road you take all by yourself
Chorus

Leilana,
My h. loves to sing in the shower and used to sing "Let's Give Em Something to Talk About" while getting ready to go to work.
OUCH
I knew then....
Funny thing is, he claims he doesn't even remember singing it a single time...and he did it several!

Sorry for the ouch.
Something funny tho, that I hope you get to experience...
A few months ago my H was in the shower and I could hear him singing--I can't remember what now, but something to the effect of "You're Cheating Heart" -- a song his father's band always played. I kind of smiled cause I KNEW he was just zoning and not realizing what he was doing. I mean he was BELTING OUT this song and right in the middle of a word he squelched it, and I heard him swear kind of softly, and then after a few seconds of quiet he slowly started singing something entirely different.
I started laughing but in a way he kind of deposited a love unit there. I'm an easy girl to score points on, what can I say?! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)
