I want to plan another little getaway with my H, without the baby, for a weekend. Therefore, I can't leave the state. We went to Leavenworth this past weekend, and it was the best time we've had in a long time. We seem to bond on road trips.
So I need some ideas! We're up in Bellingham (Boringham), and I want to go someplace fun. Someplace where we can have a nice dinner, take a walk or hike, go out, something. The Seattle/Tacoma Karaoke hopping that we do has worn me out - I think we've been to every karaoke bar from here to Olympia! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] We need to get a life! *lol* Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, How about a B and B on one of the San Juan islands? Or drive down Whidby island ,or have you ever driven down Chuckanut drive and eaten at that little seafood place? The park there is neat to climb along the water.
How about going to Port Angeles on the penninsula, or Dungeness spit or the Olympics before the snow sets in. Squim is in the rain shadow and is a good winter time town to explore, and I think there are a couple of winerys around there too.
La conner has some neat hotels and shops and resatuarants.
I almost forgot the cute town of Gig Harbor [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Lora
[This message has been edited by Lora (edited October 12, 2000).]

Carolina Belle,
Hey, there is always Moses Lake. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Maybe Whenattche (sp) and have some good apples. Are they harvested yet? I like Lora's choices better, but thought I would offer something in Eastern Wash.
JL

In Eastern Washington we used to love to tour the winerys, there are really cheap hotels there, and wine is free. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

If not the San Juans (which is the ultimate romantic getaway) then how about Mt. Baker, in a a little warm cozy cabin? It's not too far from you CB, my H and I went there when we were in recovery, it synched us getting back together, we loved it and I still have such romantic and loving memories of it.
I'm a cry baby alot lately .... I'm starting to tear up ... being an emotional women is so hard. My heart just breaks in a million little pieces remembering things.
Bye bye ...
Jo

CB,
Have a question for you. My H is a musician and in addition hosts Kareoke. So wondering if you've run into him .... I'll tell you his name " " and if you haven't run into him then maybe you've seen the OW (AKA abusive banshee) her Kareoke host name is Lana Dearest.
Any sightings???????
Jo
[This message has been edited by Resilient (edited October 12, 2000).]
[ April 24, 2002: Message edited by: Resilient ]

Lora - If we manage to get one more nice weekend on this side of the mountains [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] , then we probably will end up going to the San Juans. That way we don't have to fight Seattle traffic. I love LaConner - we went there last summer (with my parents).
Been to Gig Harbor too! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] It is a cute little town!
JL - Actually, we did swing into Wenatchee last weekend since it's only about 20 minutes away from Leavenworth. Yes, the apples are in - we bought a box for $5. Moses Lake is a little *too* far for a weekend, but Chelan is a possibility. How much longer will the weather be nice on the east side?
Resilient - Yeah, we're a little too close to Baker. When the winter comes, we'll probably be up there most weekends snowboarding. We go there so often between that and fishing that it wouldn't really be a getaway for us. And darn it, now I feel bad - I didn't mean for this to bring up sad memories!
You know, I meant to ask you where your OW did karaoke. There was a woman named Lana who hosted it at the VIP in the SeaTac/Des Moines area. But I thought I remembered you saying that she was in her early forties - this woman was blond, kinda heavyset, but she had to be in her late-fifties. Only guys that we saw host were in Everett, and I'm pretty sure that your H wasn't there.
"Lana Dearest"? I think that girlfriend has rented one too many porno flicks!

CB,
I think that was her! She looks 50 or 60 and is blonde and heavy set. Man oh man!
Exactly where did you see her and can you give me dates please? It's very important, very!
Thanks Hon!
Jo

We live in Oregon, but every year on our anniversary, my H & I make the drive up to Mount Ranier and stay at a little campground outside of Packwood, called La Wis Wis. It's beautiful, and we always have a blast. I don't know if Mount Ranier National Park is open this time of year, but if it is, check it out. It's paradise!

Jo - Lucky thing I keep a datebook! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] It was the VIP Sportsbar in SeaTac and we were there September 16th (one of many places that night, but I remember that.)
I was just joking - I don't know if that's an actual porn star name or not. But it does sound like a stripper or porn star name.
And if that is the same woman - I am speechless, Jo. And that's saying a lot. There's not a lot of depth there (from what I saw), and her looks aren't anything to write home about. I still can't get over the fact that she's FORTY - that's why I question whether it's the same woman! But with barflies, you can never tell, I know. I can't believe it!

Hi there CB,
I am in Washington and guess where H and I go to unwind and recoup? Leavenworth! I love it there. Our kids love it there. About 5 weeks after D-Day H and I got to take two nights away without kids (such a rarity) and we had an awesome time in Leavenworth. This past summer we have been twice and look forward to the next trip-maybe in December!
I won tickets to the MudFest at the southwest WA fairgrounds you can have [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] They are good either tonight at 7 or tomorrow starting at noon.
I live rather close to Mt St Helen's. It is a great place to get away to but in this rain you can't see the mountain so it wouldn't be much fun.
I hope you find a fun place to go.
Good luck!!!
------------------
*heartache*
"Life's A Dance
You Learn As You Go.
Sometimes You Lead
Sometimes You Follow!
Don't worry 'Bout What You Don't Know
LIfe's A Dance
You Learn As You Go."

Thanks a bunch CB, I owe ya one, Honey.
I called the VIP Sports Bar and sure enough, it was her (Lana Dearest). "Yes", she's 44, and I was so blown away the first time I saw her (in court), I couldn't believe my eyes either, thought the women was Lana's mom not Lana herself. My therapist went to court with me and was totally shocked too.
Lana is a welfare mom and disability recipient (she's sick from silicone implant leakage but the bars make her feel lots better <sarcasm> ), and she's Hosting Kareoke???? Hmmmmm....
Thanks again ... please let me know if you encounter any more citings, whether it be Mr. Merriam or our lovely Porn Star, Mommy ... I mean Lana Dearest. LOL!
Lv,
Jo
[This message has been edited by Resilient (edited October 13, 2000).]

Okay, let me pick my jaw up off of the floor and get back to this thread (this world is sometimes a little *too* small!)
WIFE - you know, I have never been to Mt. Rainier. I've been to St. Helens, Hood, and Baker, but never Mt. Rainier. That would probably have to wait until next summer, but thanks for the resort name. I know my H and I would have a great time there!
Heartache - I loved Leavenworth! We stayed one night at the Sleeping Lady Campground, and it was unbelievable! Fabulous food, gorgeous sights, and beautiful cabins. It's right on the Icicle river, and we just loved it. The only thing was you couldn't smoke on the grounds unless you wanted to pay the $150 fine. But we loved it there!
Mudfest? What is that? We have a brunch that we have to go to tomorrow in Bothell, and then we might putt around Seattle for a little bit. We won't do our weekend until the middle of November (after property taxes are paid. Doggone West Coast and their high taxes! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] ) But thank you for the ideas!

Hi again!
I can't really say what MudFest is. I won the tickets off the radio but haven't ever attended. I believe it is trucks playing in mud at the fairgrounds.
If you aren't going until November I will put on my thinking cap-LOL (as if that will help).
We don't smoke so maybe that is the place to go. Cabins have running water I hope?
We stay at the Enzian Inn in Leavenworth. They provide a wonderful breakfast which is included in the cost of the room. It is beautiful. There is also a guy that performs on his horn of some sort a few times during the breakfast hour outside.
Yeah I know what you mean about the taxes [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Thank God ours are included in the house pymt but for what we have I feel we are way over-charged.
Have a good weekend anyhow [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
------------------
*heartache*
"Life's A Dance
You Learn As You Go.
Sometimes You Lead
Sometimes You Follow!
Don't worry 'Bout What You Don't Know
LIfe's A Dance
You Learn As You Go."
[This message has been edited by heartache (edited October 13, 2000).]

Darn it, Jo, I had just picked my jaw up off of the floor! So that was her? No way!!! She's only 44?!?!? God, that makes me want to go home and bath in cold cream for a few hours! What is the matter with your H?!
Hon, you would be surprised at the people they let host karaoke nowadays. Hell, you don't even have to know how to sing anymore!
Well, I won't go looking for them, but if I do see either of them when I'm out, I'll definitely let you know. I'm going to be in Seattle tomorrow, so who knows?
You're not "roughing it" like you do on most camping trips, that's for sure. I'm sure you and your H would love it!

CB,
I'm telling ya ... she is quite the piece of work. When I finally saw her the first time, then things started to come together for me ... she was "DESPERATE" to have my H, that's why she harassed me non-stop, and Oh what abusive harassment it was too! I think she felt it was her last chance for a man.
My H is a VERY handsome man, very, almost pretty! He also looks very young, he's 46 but doesn't look a day over 35. Everyone tells him that.
So I can't imagine what the h*ll he's doing w/her, I mean really, she's not attractive in any way, inside or out. Bet ppl think she's his mother when they're together. LOL!
BUT she is a sex machine....I know from listening to all her 7+ months of voice pages to H. This woman will and has done everything in terms of sex, involving human waiste, nice huh?
If you ever encounter either of them (which I have a funny feeling you will), please do pay attention and take notes, would very much like to hear what they're up to. You see, my H is claiming they are no longer together, and she is seeing someone else, poor man, he must be blind. LOL!
Love ya and prayers,
Jo
[This message has been edited by Resilient (edited October 13, 2000).]
[This message has been edited by Resilient (edited October 13, 2000).]
[This message has been edited by Resilient (edited October 13, 2000).]

Jo,
Sorry, they're remodeling my reception area, so I have WAY too much time on my hands today! *lol*
You know, when I think about it, most OW barflies look the same. Janine looks a lot like Lana except for she wears no makeup, has mousy dark hair, and looks 56 instead of 60. Really, I think that for women, "Bar Years" are like "Dog Years" (coincidence? I think not! LOL!) I go out on a weekly to biweekly basis, but that's because I just turned 21 in May, and I still get a thrill out of showing the ID [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Didn't your H see what an awful person she was with all of this harrassment? What did he do during that whole thing?
My H actually looks older than his real age of 28 (yikes, I hope he doesn't see this! He doesn't look MUCH older!), but he is extremely good-looking, also. He looks like a cross between Richard Gere and Harrison Ford. I know that they say looks have nothing to do with cheating, but isn't it funny that the good-looking ones get caught up in PA's a lot more than others...
I think it's the whole adulation thing, as to why he is with her. I don't know about you, Jo, but while I am affectionate and I tell my H all the time how much I love him, I rarely stroke his ego anymore because #1 - it's already big enough IMHO, and #2 - I'm his wife now - admiration, adulation, flirting, etc. is silly and unnecessary when you're married, in HIS opinion. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] So I couldn't meet that need if I tried! But when it's a new woman, that's a different story. Men like that cannot be given the opportunity to meet new women (or whatever subgender our OW's are in).
I'll keep an eye peeled when I'm out. My H is a huge fan of hole-in-the-wall dives, which is usually where you have to go karaoke anyway, so I have a feeling also I'll probably see them sometime. I hope, for your sake, that they are broken up. If the witch even looks at my H, her last conscious memory will BE my wedding ring - right before I deck the tramp! Sorry, full moon + PMS doesn't help me stay calm! But like I said, if I run into them, I'll let you know. I'm in Bothell tomorrow, but S has to be picked up mid-afternoon, so we probably won't go out again until next weekend.
Has he tried contacting you again, now that he and OW are "broken up"? I hope the best, but BE CAREFUL!
Good luck!
Ali
