I had a good, then bad, then ended good day at work. I cam home feeling positive about the last two GREAT days with my husband. He was in a bad mood, about his job, what we have been through the last year, etc. I stayed positive, encouraged him and gave some suggestions. Before I knew it it was the exact same fight that we had 3 days ago. We are different personalities, we don't agree on things, etc.
Now I'm feeling bad about us. Same circle we have been through for about 4 months now. Is it time for us to get off this ride? I am so very tired of working THIS hard. I know it takes work but this is crazy.

Janiee,
My H and I often have that same conversation. We are having a great day and then somehow we end up at "maybe we'll never get it" blah blah blah....
We are in recovery. Things don't change easy. We have started the workbook that goes with Love Busters and HN/HN. This requires so much work just to change the bad habits that we practiced for so many years. You both have to be committed to chage for this to work. Going through the workbook together is very helpful. The first rule of protecting your spouse from angry outbursts eliminated alot of tension for us. I kmow four months can seem like such a long time, but look back over how long you have been together and it really is just a small piece of our lives. take care of yourself and keep working it.
cleo
