This is just so weird, I have to share it. Any ideas for what exactly this means??
At about 6:30 am, I was just finished feeding our 6 month old, when I drifted back to sleep. Kind of the half asleep, but where you dream and really remember the dream type of sleep (hope that made sense)!
Anyway, we just built our house a year ago, and there is an empty lot next to us (not part of the dream, that's true).
Now for the dream....we were all upstairs, except the baby who was in the basement sleeping. We were in our daughters bedroom because she was complaining about her drawers not staying closed in her dresser. We didn't know why, but every time we closed them, they came back open. Pretty soon, I noticed that the house seemed to be tilting. It kept tilting more, and more, and more until it started caving in. Simply folding in on top of itself. All of us (me, H, and our 2 daughters) kept running from room to room trying to get away from it and pretty soon was all in one big pile of rubble. We were all completely unharmed. We then heard the baby crying and went to find him. He was in his crib with pieces of drywall surrounding him to make a safe "fort". He, too, was unharmed.
They had just started building on the empty lot next door and the owner came over and simply said "oh, sorry, we must have done something wrong" and simply walked away.
We were all hysterical and thanking God to be alive when I jolted awake. It was so very real, that I remember it vividly.
The very, very strange part of this story---at literally 8 months to the hour, I had just found out that my H was having an affair---7:00 am on April 2, 2000. Exactly 8 months later, I was having a dream that my world was caving in around me and I could do nothing to stop it. The person responsible was very uncaring, and simply walked away. The good part---we all not survived without a scratch.
If anybody has any thoughts or suggestions, I'd love to hear them. This has been encompassing my thoughts this entire day.....

Hi
I believe you got it right. I have had several strange dreams during my H/A.
The first one was last Dec. I dreamed we were in divorce court and I looked at H and he looked very indifferent. The next morning
I told H about dream. I do not remember his reply. But I had no clue at the time that he was conteplating an affair. D-Day March 18th 2000 app: 7:00 pm.. Just friends blah blah blah > Sorry just a LITTLE ANGER Deb
------------------
Deb

hurtinginil:
Right up my alley, I'm not a shrink but I love this stuff.
I think this is called "lucid dreaming" and I pay atteniton to my dreams. I work things out in them.
"Now for the dream....we were all upstairs, except the baby who was in the basement sleeping.
sleeping baby - He hadn't been conceived yet; but you have him now. You went back in time to the moment of discovery, 8 months ago. He was in the pre-conceived, pre-born limbo of existence. You can't "conceive" of life without the existence of that precious baby, so you put him to sleep in the basement (the organs of generation - ovaries, unreleased and unfertilized eggs).
Your analysis is what I would say. Your world is tilting, out of balance, "folding in on itself" imploding.
You're trying very hard not to let things collapse and are escaping by the skin of your teeth. Was your daughter the first one to show symptoms of recognizing problems, even on a subconscious level? Was she acting out or anything?
I think the owner of the empty lot represents your H. He set things in motion but didn't act very responsibly and just expected "oh, sorry" to be enough to smooth things over.
The "empty lot" could be the empty and meaningless casual involvement with another woman.
"The very, very strange part of this story---at literally 8 months to the hour, I had just found out that my H was having an affair---7:00 am on April 2, 2000. Exactly 8 months later, I was having a dream that my world was caving in around me and I could do nothing to stop it. The person responsible was very uncaring, and simply walked away. The good part---we all not survived without a scratch."
It's pretty evident that you have a strong psychic and intuitive component within you, based on the timing of the dream. Even if you forget things on the surface, they are remembered within your very cells. Also, women carry internal clocks - their menstrual cycle. We don't really need calendars or clocks to remind us of things. Painful memories resurface on the anniversaries of the events.
Surviving without a scratch may be wish fulfillment. The damage is within. I hope you are repairing and rebuilding your marriage with a competent therapist.
------------------
Belle, Domestic Goddess
[This message has been edited by Bellevue (edited December 07, 2000).]
[This message has been edited by Bellevue (edited December 07, 2000).]
