I don't have the kids tonight so I saved all my wrapping for them until tonught so I wouldn't go crazy with nothing to do. I thought I would rent a couple of movies to keep me distracted.
I went to the video store I always go to, but tonight for the first time ever, someone tried to pick me up there! As I thought about it, there is probably a high concentration of lonely, sad people at video stores tonight -- and I was one of them!!! I tried taking it as a compliment, but the strong smell of alcohol surounding him made that a bit of a stretch!
Oh well, it did give me a bit of humor for my night alone. Back to wrapping!

Exhausted,
LOL I know just how you feel. I had a 80+ year old patient ask me if it was OK if he told me he was very attracted to me. I told my coworkers and they all laughed cause he had said the same to every one of them!!!
Happy wrapping!
lora

Hey, think of it as a little Holiday Cheer throw in for free.
Did you get your wrapping done? I need to start. There is not one gift under our tree. I keep trying to find the spirit & it is just not here. Both H & I are just going through the motions, & I know that this is our YS last Christmas to BELIEVE. With our OS, the last yr he BELIEVED was pure MAGIC & I hate that due to his messed up parents that YS will not have that last magical Christmas to forever look back on. I guess that what is tearing me apart, is that I am pretty sure this is our last Christmas as a family & I am not dealing with it very well.

Dear Sing,
I finally got my wrapping done at 2:30 a.m. At least I didn't have any problems sleeping after that even though the kids weren't here last night.
I can identify with your mixed feelings about celebrating Christmas. This may well be our last Christmas with daddy too. My kids are still young so they really get into it and I'm desperately trying to stay focussed on them and experience the joy of it through their eyes, instead of my own.
My H had originally suggested that he come over early on Christmas morning and then later in the day we all go over to his place. I asked that we just spend the whole day here as I wanted the kids to have one last uncomplicated Christmas and because I didn't want to have to choose between either the rest of the day without my kids or having to be at his place which would probably have made me physically ill! Thankfully H agreed to stay here so I don't have to make the choice.
I'll be thinking of you this weekend, Sing. This must be so much harder for you half way around the world! Hang tough and focus on the magic for your YS. Then, no matter what happens, you'll be able to look back at this Christmas and be proud of yourself.

We took the YS out to look at the lights. While neighborhoods don't decorate here like in the states or in TX, the main shopping drag is really lit up. Orchard Rd is the shopping Mecca of Singapore, for a about a mile stretch it is a sea of blinking lights plus each building is decorated in some fashion. There is a ski scene to start it off, which is unreal in this tropical setting. My YS really got a kick out of it, but think he was more impressed by the people. I think half the population of Singapore was on this one-mile stretch. So hopefully we gave him a little magic. I think he really doesn't believe but hasn't mentioned it yet. He just doesn't act like he does.
