H & I are registered for a Retrouvaille weekend in February - I think we both view it as a last ditch attempt to save our marriage. My actions certainly helped us get where we are now, and my H is still deeply involved with OW. We have four children and have been married 16 years, separated since May.
My question is - has anyone else on this board been through Retrouvaille? I would love to hear your experiences and especially success stories.

No I have not been but i have heard lots of good and positive reports about it. They do have a web site but i guess you know that. I hope it goes well for you - it is tremendous that your h will go with you - I found that my h strenuously opposed anything "helpful" while he was still in the fog.
R

Hi Gator,
Yeah, we did a Retrouvaille weekend in September...it was a flop.
The program is wonderful, and I saw some couples really get it back together, but for us, h just went to get me off his back, his heart was not in it.
Retrouvaille is not intended for couples where an OP is still involved. You are both supposed to be working hard to restore your marriage for it to do any good. Call and speak to the leaders of your weekend...maybe they can let you know if the timing is right for you all.
I also looked at Retrouvaille as a last ditch effort, and while I learned a lot about my husband it was clear to me at the end of the weekend that I had better start moving into the acceptance period of this seperation. H was excited, not about restoration of our marriage, but of what lies ahead of him and his life. I did get some truths out of him, about his forging my name on our tax returns, ect...the weekend does break a person down a bit because it is totally exhausting.
I do not mean to slam the program at all. These are wonderful people running it, they want to help so badly. The thing that really matters going into it though, is that BOTH people really want to work on it.
If you go, take a favorite pen, you will be writing a lot.
Write back if you have any further questions about it...once you've attended a weekend, you're really not supposed to give many details, but I will help you in any way I can.
Hope I didn't discourage you.
allison
