Now I'm a mean person because I won't let my son always (yes, downstairs all the time) be with his grandparents. My husband things I "trap" my son up here with me when that's not true. My son ALWAYS gets to go downstairs, but my husband would rather for him to stay down there with them. I don't understand it. I feel like the only reason I had a child to this family is so that his "true" family could be my husband's parents.
Don't get me wrong, I do want my son to be around them, but I don't understand why he always has to be down there with them.
We "almost" got into an argument today, but I stopped it. You see, my husband says that we shouldn't keep my son up here with us. So I said, fine, he can go downstairs. After that, I took my son out of the room and made him go downstairs. I know I was probably wrong for saying this, but I told my husband, fine, you're always getting what you want, now he can go wherever he wants. He said something like he was going to keep hearing about it and I said no, this is all I'm going to say on this and I was right. I haven't said anything to him since. Not a word.
Is it wrong for me to feel like my son is being yanked away from me ever since he was born? I think I told some of you that when I brought him home from the hospital, his mother used to come upstairs ALL THE TIME (no joke, even my sil agrees with me because she saw it) whenever my son made a noise.
I mean, think about it, in the worse case scenario (not saying that this is going to happen), if something were to happen to me and my husband and I moved out, my son wouldn't want to go because he would rather be here. It's perfect. He's being trained by my husband and his family to stay away from me. I'm not saying that lightly. Think about it, my son no longer calls me for anything, he calls my husband first or he calls my husband's mother. In the beginning, he would ALWAYS call me, now he doesn't want to be bothered with me anymore.
It also seems that I can't get out of this house fast enough. My husband keeps on saying that he wants to move, but he's not doing anything about but throwing around words. If it were up to him, we were still be living here until one or both of his parents died (no joke, he really doesn't want to leave).
Oh yeah, for anybody that lives in Virginia, what are the state laws for getting your tubes tied at the age of 22? I think I'm going to have to go that route because I don't want to go thru this again with another child. I can't deal with this anymore, I really DO NOT EVER want anymore children, I've had enough (and nothing is going to change my mind).
I can already tell that some of you are going to flame me to death for this one so go right ahead. I need a kick in the butt for what happened today.
Thanks for listening,
Miaka

Miaka,
Your H is acting like a kid. What would happen if you simply said you were son's mother and you wanted to spend some quiet private time with son?
