I have been on the MB message board for over two months now and have often wondered why we don't have a chat room at this site. Maybe this question has been asked before and maybe there is a reason for not having it, but I would like to know.
There are times when I could use the online support. If it was properly moderated and limited to certain times, what could it hurt?

AH:
Chat rooms have been specifically discouraged, due to the ease of affairs starting out in this medium. Even on the MB boards, we have cases of affairs starting between members.
To properly moderate such a forum would require a full time person, which MB can't afford. And the transitory nature of "chat" means that the information is "wasted" for the purposes of archiving. If you discuss situations on the bulletin board, you'll have access to the information forever (or until the index gets corrupted... [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com])
