Hi there,
I'm not sure if I can give you all the answers because i'm still somewhat in recovery.
Let me tell you how things went.
I talked it over with my female docter and she was going to support me on the insurance issue. I had to follow phisical thereapy and then talk to a surgeon. P.T. could not take away all pain in back so they wrote a note about that to my docter. Surgeon wrote a note with pictures in the beginning of October 2000 that he thought it was nessecary to have the surgery done.
The first week of november I received approval of insurance and went ahead to schedule. Surgery date was 20 nov.
I had to be there at 6.30am and surgery started at 8.00am. I was out in no time, and woke up without pain around 11.00am. Just a little sore.
I was home around lunchtime and took pain medication and went to sleep for the rest of the day and tuesday i stopped the medication b/c it made me throuw up.
Wednesday I decided that it was enough sleeping and got dressed and went about my bussines while my mother was running the house.
The scares where taped off and a tube top held the bandages in place and that was it.
I was allowed to take a shower on tuesday and do whatever I felt I could do.
I could not lift, reach high places or lay on my side or stomach. And I could not give hugs!
Now, 6 weeks later, all the tapes are off, I wear normal brahs and a sportsbrah and the woonds are closed.
I went from a size FF to a size C and can also wear surtain B's
It changed my life !!
I look good, I feel good, and no pain (could be different for everybody)
The scares are still visible but I think they will fade over time.
Take care
Ka
[This message has been edited by Baloe (edited January 09, 2001).]
