This is off topic, but thought with the varied professions that maybe someone would have some ideas for me.
I worked until our 3rd child was born last May, right in the midst of my H's affair. With me not working any longer, and his early MLC and the need to spend LOTS of money, I would like to find something to do from home before we run ourselves into a bad financial position.
Anyone know of any real work from home opportunities that are out there? I'd be interested if anyone has any ideas.....
Thanks!

Hey! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Well, as you know, I have been a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for about a year now. I'm not working it very much, but I'm still making around $1000 to $1500 per month. If I got my butt in gear and worked it 15 - 20 hours a week, I could easily make $5000 to $10,000 a month, but with a full-time job, it's hard. But it's a fabulous company, it's direct selling - it's not one of those multi-level pyramids, and I have made the best girlfriends I have ever had through there, let me tell you! It definitely beats the "nyah, nyah, nyah" of the normal workplace breakroom! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] They totally teach you everything!
If sales isn't your cup of tea, you might want to look into Medical Transcription or Medical Billing. You can work out of your home on the computer, contracting out to various medical offices. You can do at home training (At-Home Professions is very good and very reputable), and then be working out of your home in as little as 6 months. Average income there is 30-40K per year.

I wanted to get back to you on this one. I don't have a fantastic idea, but just thought I'd mention my thoughts since I have more time now.
Since you were in the mortgage industry, do you have lots of contacts there? I would suggest calling or emailing as many people as possible that were former contacts, and let them know that you would like to do work from your home. You never know what single call or email might result in some project of some sort.
People do lots of things from home....I knew of one doing human resources work, basically just checking references of people that applied to a company, and I suppose other HR type stuff. But is was from home, part time, with the odd visit into the office.
So to me the default option is to try and find something closely related to what you did before, because you'd know some people from it and have experience.
The other route is to find something completely different. I guess there are many different work from home opportunities, but you never know what the right one is. Certainly spread the word that you want to find something. Selling something is common (books, clothes, Mary Kaye like Carolina Belle said, and many others).
Web design is another, but I suppose you'd need a course and some contacts to do that.
So did you have any ideas? How about anyone else....got any more ideas on this, since I didn't have much?
