Hello,
My H e-mailed a lovely greeting card to me. However, I noticed that it said that I could reply to this card by replying to his "hotmail" account. Now, I never knew he had a hotmail account.
How can I access the password so that I can find out what kind of e-mails are going there?
Although our marriage is going well, this kind of stuff makes me feel insecure and I need to know if he has been using it to make contact with OW, now or in the past.
UGHHHH!!!!
Can anyone help?
Survivor,
You know your h better than anyone else. What word/phrases/dates do you think he would be most likely to use as a password ? Go to hotbot, click on hotmail enter the email address that you have from the card and start trying different words that you think he may use. If that doesn't work you may need to install a keystroke program (look for the post we had around here about spy tricks or snooping tricks ).
Or you could ask him for the pass word, just explain that you still need to have access to any and all emails cell phones ect. to have any peace of mind. But only you know how he may react to that.
Take care my friend
------------------
Deb
Hepatitis C, Please educate yourself ! <A HREF="http://www.hepatitis-central.com/
In" TARGET=_blank>http://www.hepatitis-central.com/
In memory of a very dear friend http://fathom.org/teemingmillions/wally.adp

There is no way you can get that without being a hacker. Hotmail usually ads letter or numbers after your username and password. So, if you did know what he may use as password, they would add more to it. If he lost the password they would e-mail it to him or a new one. So, if he has a main e-mail and this is a back up, they would e-mail the password to his regular e-mail, or they show it on the screen after answering a question he knows the answer to.
If you go to log in - log in his name- there is a spot for "forget password"- click on that- he will have enter info like zip code and birthday...if he didn't lie- you would know that. If they ask for showing it on the screen he'll have a question set up he knows the answer to- like mother's maiden name- then they'll show it to you..Otherwise, they e-mail it to another e-mail address he registered with at hotmail.

Hi Deb & Crete!
Thanks for replying. I tried the "forget password" and I found out that the password is my son's middle name. However, my son's middle name isn't at least 8 characters like the password requires it to be. I'm still trying to figure it out, though.
Deb: It's so nice to hear from you. How are you? Can you post an update so that we know how you are doing?
Okay...I'm going back to try it again! Thanks!

Survivor: Hotmail originally had no minimum character requirement for passwords - that is something relatively recent. So it is entirely possible that this is an account he has had for a couple of years. If it IS, it is also possible that he had registered with the website that the card came from using the hotmail address, so he may not have had to enter anything to send that card to you.
I guess I'm trying to give him the benefit of the doubt on the hotmail account, allowing for the idea that he may simply have forgotten about it?
But the 8 character password thing is only in the last couple of years or more recently even.
------------------
terri
Courage
Whatever course you decide upon,
there is always someone to tell you
that you are wrong.
There are always difficulties arising
which tempt you to believe that your
critics are right.
To map out a course of action
and follow it to an end
requires courage.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Survivor,
AH HA, Trust still an issue with you too.
You have gotten a better response than I did this morning. I too, asked for help in trying to get Hotmail passwords. Someone recommended the Hot key program , I can't remember the name of it, I don't have it right in front of me. I'll get it for you if you'd like. I purchased it tonight, but H didn't use the 'puter tonight. I'll get my money's worth from this I'm sure.
My H has seven e-mail addresses... five of which I know about and have access to , unbeknownst to him, the two most recent ones added to the list... well, let's just say I'm pissed. It has been 18 months since D- day for us and we have been in recovery for 14 months. Not doing so good here!
I have taken a real issue with this new discovery. I have not mentioned it to him yet!
I really don't know if I will. My trust for him is failing rapidly, as is my love for him. I think at this point... we are doomed. I feel nothing.
I hope your situation turns out to be of little concern for you. My problem is I can't understand why someone needs 7 e-mail addresses, seems to me this would indicate their need to have a "private" life. What do you think?
I have been a member since June 2000 and I got a poor response on this topic here, go to 'just found out' there is a recent thread on there that will help you.
Good luck and happy spying!
Cathy
