I posted the following in the Recovery Forum, but I thought maybe we could change the words around and make it a PLAN A Blessing.
I know a lot of you are still struggling with a less than cooperative WS, and you may not be getting anything in return. But as a recovering/recovered WS, I think I really like this blessing, and I thnak God that my H had the patience and compassion to stay with me.
It was almost a year ago - when my H and I started in recovery - and I was probably in a very similar situation to many of you and your spouse. I don't mean to offend anyone by sharing this, I just thought for those struggling, well, maybe it might encourage you to keep trying. Anyway . . .don't mean to ramble.
"We thank you, O God, for the love You have implanted in our hearts.
May it always inspire us to be kind in our words, considerate of feelings and concerned for each other's needs and wishes.
Help us to be understanding and forgiving of human weaknesses and failings.
Increase our faith and trust in You and may Your prudence guide our life and love.
Bless our marriage, O God, with peace and happiness, and make our love fruitful for Your glory and our joy both here and in eternity."
--author unknown (but do you think it's a Harley?)
