We just got hit by a 7.0 earthquake about 20 minutes ago here. I'm in Bellingham (about 90 miles north of Seattle), and we were impacted here pretty hard. The epicenter was near Tacoma, where both Resilient and Lora are (or pretty close, anyway). I'm just checking in to make sure y'all are okay. I'm pretty shaken up!
[This message has been edited by Carolina Belle (edited February 28, 2001).]

Yeah, phones are okay up here (hard to get an outside line, but doable if persistent). They just upgraded the quake to a 7.0 - the capitol building in Olympia is cracked, two buildings in the industrial district collapsed, Northgate mall may have a ruptured gas line and was evacuated...***deep breath*** Un f'n believable!!!! I'll be here for awhile.

I was actually calling Hurtinginil when the damn thing hit (and then I hung up - sorry!)! It's sad though - Seattle had a bunch of idiots rioting yesterday during Mardis Gras in Pioneer Square, and now this. Those poor people in the Space Needle though still can't get down, and I guess people could see it swaying during the quake! Okay, stop pumping, adrenaline! LOL!

I'm glad you all are ok! My grandmother lives in Portland and is ok as well. She's checking her house for foundation cracks and is advising my aunt and cousins not to go in the basement until she's sure it's safe (they live with her).
My prayers are defiently with you all!
Vee

I don't usually post on this part of MB but I live in Lynnwood and boy was that quake scary. I just stood in the doorway of the baby's room and watched him in his crib. He got woke up because his crib was shaking. He refused to sleep the rest of the day. I am still shook up about the whole thing.
I'm glad to know you all made it through ok.
