I was talking to Jim on the phone, he's going out w/people from his "ex-work"-today was his last day. . and he was saying how excited he is about his new job & his OWN place (it's something he's never really done-all on his own). I told him how excited I am for him & I said, you're making a really good life for yourself & you've been working really hard at it for such a long time. He said, or should you say, I'm making a good life for myself & some other lucky person (I could tell he was smiling). We talked about something else for just a minute & then I said (smiling)-hey, did I ever tell you how lucky I am?? He said, what did you play the lottery & win? I said, yep, kinda-I've had to pay some taxes along the way, but I'm thinkin' I'm still gonna be rich. He laughed. See you guys, he totally knows, just like I do.
I mean for the most part right now when we talk anything about the future it's made into like a joke-but joking is still communicating right? I see it as, he's just not quite ready for me to say. . so, just WHEN do you want me to move there with you? So I just joke & play and it lets him know that I want him, that I want us, but it also doesn't put any pressure on him right now to actually have a discussion about it. And the impression I get back from him is that he's really happy to hear the things I'm saying-he's happy that I still want HIM, he's happy I'm still here, even after what we've been (or are going) through.
Hey man, I'll pay my taxes just like the next guy if that's what it takes to make me rich someday. . .
