We went shopping today for things for his new apt. in VA, when we were eating he said something about when he comes home to visit he wouldn't be seeing alot of his friends (many of his friends live an hour away from here), so that's why he's going out tonight to see some of them. My OD told him, "Well, I think that when you come home to visit, you should only be visiting, me & Mommy & Jesi & "your son" and your parents. That's all you should have time for". We both just smiled.
He said to me later in the car, "I guess she just laid down the law didn't she?". I said, "Yep, she kinda takes after her Mother doesn't she?". He smiled.
I'm getting a little package ready for him to give him when we're moving him in. I'm putting in it:
His balloon notes.
Pictures of me & him.
Pictures of him & the girls.
The empty wine bottle from his interview & some
candles to put in it & burn-so the wax dripps
down the bottle.
A blanket from here that he's always liked.
A couple candles I bought for him (he said to me
one time about he would have to get some candles
for his new house).
Some new wine glasses I bought for him (he really
likes mine & said about he would like to have some
of his own).
A picture my OD drew that was really awesome & I
framed & have hanging on my wall-she's been trying
to decide if she should give it to him. I asked her
tonight if she wanted me to put it in w/my things &
she said yes, BUT he has to bring it home w/him every
time he comes to visit!!-How cute is that??
Some pictures of me that are "for his eyes only", that
I would never let him take away from this house before.
And I think one of my nightgowns-you know the nicer ones.
Any other suggestions?
My OD will whip him into shape if anybody can!!
And, do you guys want to hear what my D's call him? Both he & his son's name is Jim, so when we first met them they were "Big Jim" & "Little Jim", then my YD got tired of saying Big Jim, so now they both just call him "Big". . is that the cutest thing you ever heard? I had a parent/teacher conference w/my YD's teacher & he said, "She's always talking about this "Big", so I explained to him who Big is, and he was laughing, he said, "Well, I could tell she really liked him, but I was never sure if he was the neighbor, or a dog or what"!! I mean when my family, or any of our friends talk about him to the girls they say "So how is Big?". That's his name in our house. How sweet is that?
bitsy,
I don't have other suggestions, and you seem to have it under control....but I did read what you have planned and it is all good. Not alot of people are receiving nice packages like that, and this comes from the heart.
You are doing all you can, and I hope things work out for you.
The stories about your kids are nice!
