Deut and Dylan, don't let anyone tell you that a no-kill shelter can't work, because it can.<P>We have adopted from the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge. They have been around for a long time, and recently built a brand, spanking new facility, all with DONATED MONEY. <P>Please contact them at rbari99@aol.com. Talk to Chris Taylor, the shelter director. Tell her you heard about them from someone who adopted there. They can probably help give you some advice, not only in how to handle the current situation, but also how to run a no-kill shelter.<P>RBARI is a terrific facility. It can be done.

They are learning there is disease and sadness, but they are learning that sometimes you have to make tough choices.<P>Gee, sounds like something I'm still trying to learn. <P>Dylan, you have fought long and hard with these people. They still need to learn some lesson from this. The only thing you can do now is step back, let them learn, and take care of yourself. Look them squarely in the eye and let them go.<P>I am so sorry you caught the disease from the animals. Do the foolish fighters know this? Perhaps they need to hear again.
