Long story short---H is in Boston this week on business, and last minute has "invited" me to join him for the weekend. Looks like everything is going to work out for someone to watch the kids, plane ticket, etc....
Anyone who is familiar with Boston---what would be a super romantic getaway?? Basically we'll only have Saturday as I'll be arriving late afternoon on Friday and we have to fly back early Sunday morning.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.....
I'll post an update, but things have been going well for the most part. Let's hope this little getaway weekend will be exactly what we need to keep things headed in a positive direction!!!

Well, I'm not all that familiar with Boston, but I did write a wedding night at the Copley Plaza in the novel I'm working on. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) It's an old, elaborate hotel built in 1913.

hurtinginil,
I live right outside the city of Boston. The weather report for this weekend is sunny and 70!
He is IN the city? I sugggest going to one of the smaller fishing villages on the North Shore for a romantic getaway. I LOVE Newburyport and Glouster. I'll also agree with Dazed & Confused, the Copley plaza is romantic and incredible...and also incredibly expensive. Good Luck and have a WONDERFUL weekend!

hurtinginil:
If you want to do the downtown area, the Copley is very nice. If you want to do the outskirts, the north shore is very nice, and I'm sure that there are some B&B's in that area. If you want to check out the farther western reaches, there's a terrific B&B in Stow (MA), the Amerscot. Classic small NE towns abound (Harvard is one of my favorites).

Thanks for the replies!! H has made reservations for us at the Eliot Hotel in downtown Boston for Friday and Saturday nights. To quote him "it's a little out of the way, but the most romantic hotel in Boston" Yipeee!!! I guess I'll be making a trip to Victoria's Secret this afternoon!!!
Guess we won't need to worry about seeing any other sights..... ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Schizzo---glad to hear from you! I have missed you on the boards. Things have been very up and down, but mostly up in the recent few weeks. I think we're finally in recovery. He's broken off the relationship and is making some effort towards our marriage. He still says he doesn't love me, but it would appear that he's at least trying now....Sounds like you are doing great, and I am so happy for you!!!

How about you go to the website and send me an email with what your male advice would be.....
Hey there Aries---been meaning to call you this week, but with T gone, it's been hectic again, and I don't want to bother you in the evening. Oh no, now I'm in trouble! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
I don't have your e-mail address here at home (getting son ready for his trip), but, not knowing your H at all, I'll go conservative, somewhat, and recommend item # 66-146176 from the spring catalog. I couldn't resist it. (No wisecracks from anyone!!!)
Dave

Thanks for the recommendation---I'll have to see what my local shop has in stock. Yes, that is a little bit conservative, and would be much more my taste than his. My H would probably prefer black leather, whips, and handcuffs. Well, OK, maybe something in between that and your suggestion ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) .

Hi Hurtinginil,
Boston is so nice durring the spring time. Do you want to do sightseeing or what?
Since you are down town I would suggest going to Feinall (spelling) hall. North end is nice. Great itallian food. Now if Chinese is your thing go to ChinaTown. We always end up eating at the Grand Chow chow...somewhere off of Washington street. Of course if you love seafood go to the Aquarium and then across the street is the resturant Legal Seafood. Also while at the Aquarium the sister boat of the Analia Geil (Perfect Storm boat) is docket at the Aquarium. Rated the best. If you want to do some shopping go to Haymarket street. Most clubs hang around Treamont street. Also if you go Hancock/Pudential Building (not sure which one) is the Duck tours. I have been dying to go on the dock tour. They take you around the city and then in the water. You should take it. Also if you go to the park near downtown you can take the swan tour. Swan tours have been a part of the lake in the park for 150 years.
In North End you can see the North church (church that had the lanturens for the American war) and see Paul Ravers house.
Also do remember a great deal of construction is going on 93. Or in other words the big dig. It will cause a lot of detours if you do decide to rent a car and drive around. So take the signs as a grain of salt. We dropped off Tony's sister at the airport and we were following the signs and they were wrong. Just an FYI but the new tunnel is open most of the way to the airport.
I am sure that gives you heaps of ideas. We just went this past weekend during the Marathon. Saturday we saw a few of the runners sightseeing. Have fun and it is suppose to be great this weekend!!!!!

[This message has been edited by Pahakissa1 (edited April 19, 2001).]

Oooooh!!! Congrats, honey! I hope you have a great time in Boston! Don't do anything that I wouldn't do (or would it be better to not do anything I WOULD do? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) )
PS - While you're at VS, I double-dog dare you to get T the "Elephant Truck" thong!!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/shocked.gif)
