get this.... about a month ago a few days before my wife and I moved into separated apartments. I went to the health club that she works out in. And as usual her and her "friend" were out in the parking lot talking. Well this time i saw them...so i went ahead and stopped my car and got out. Well immediatly they looked as if someone had shot them. both her and him started looking at the ground and could not look at me. So i walked up, and extented my hand to shake his hand and introduced myself to him. I thought he was going to crap his pants. He was kind of hiding behind my wife when i walked up. So after i shook his hand. I stood there for a second(it felt like hours) then i looked and her and looked at him and said... "Wow, isnt this a pisser?" then i walked off. and turned and said "I'm moving out this weekend anyways, so you two can have each other" So he comes up to me, and tells me to wait. He walks up and looks me in the eye and says "I'm sorry". Sorry? what?????? So i asked him if he was in love with my wife? He just looked at me in shock, then i asked if he was in love with his OWN wife? still the stupid look. So I told him "how would you feel if the woman you have loved for 6 yrs was spending all of her free time with another man?" Still the stupid look. So i left.
She got home right after me, and cussed me out more than i have ever seen her. She told me that i had no right to confront him. That he was innocent. And that his is a kind and great guy. and get this... I had NO RIGHT to embarrass her "friend".. then she started yelling at me that he will probally not even talk to her again.
she told everyone that i came up there yelling and screaming and acting like an a**hole. I did no such thing. I told her i could have knocked the guy out. and that many people in my position would have.
Has anyone had a similar expericence?

------------------
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

Similar experiences? You bet! See Act 1, scene 3 of the script.
I also confronted my wife and OM in the health club. I didn't do as good a job as you did, but boy was she mad that I had intruded.
Normal stuff. Hang in there.
WAT

Good for you!! I know all this stuff is supposed to be an LB, but sometimes you just have to let it out.
Actually, I think you showed a lot of restraint considering the circumstances.
So the OM is "innocent"??? LOL!!!

Isn't it funny how the OP is always "innocent"? I heard that from my H the whole time. BTW, you handled yourself great!

Yep, I've had a similar experience, but it wasn't at the health club, it was at a university library. And they weren't talking. Nope, they definitely weren't talking.
I didn't touch him. Oddly enough, for some reason I did offer to shake his hand but the poor little kid (he might have been 21, she was 36) had already backed into the corner and was looking at me like a deer caught in the headlights. I made him get his ID card out and show me his name. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) He was hyperventilating so bad he looked like he was about to pass out. Then I told him he was an @$$hole and left. In retrospect, I wish I had found a library worker and had them both arrested.
He's definitely not worth serving jail time over, so I'm glad I didn't hurt him for that reason. On the other hand, if I thought I could get away with it, I'd gleefully skin him alive. I'm trying hard to be more forgiving but I'm not there yet.
Personally, I think you handled yourself very well. There just isn't a good way to deal with this crap except to try to maintain some semblence of self-respect and dignity. We really don't have control over anyone but ourselves, and we don't have responsibility for anyone else, either. You should be proud of yourself.
--
o2bsane@hotmail.com

[This message has been edited by o2bsane (edited April 20, 2001).]

I can actually FEEL the scene. My H`s EA partner said in an e-mail when he was ranting on about something, "boy you really get fired up! I kind of like that coming out in you!" And I pictured me saying "let me show you what fired up looks like, and let me know if you "kind of like that coming out in" MEEEE! I think LB`s do have their place.
