Ok i have a new obsession that i am having a hard time getting over. I keep thinking about time, like one year ago today everything seemed ok with my W and I. Or counting the exact days it has been since we separtated. and counting the exact months it has been since i had sex with her.
anyone else have this obsessive compulsive behavior?
------------------
Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

yes,
I DID have exactly those type of OCD tendencies (dates as triggers) and had my GP prescribe Xanax while I attended some counseling sessions during the first year post discovery. (We are at two years since the A ended and 21 months true recovery).
You have to be careful with Xanax, tho. It works great, but is EXTREMELY addictive for SOME people. (I wasn't one of them.)
Hope this helps. Some dates still suck eggs, but as my formerly WS says...they only have the power you give them!
lizzie

I had a problem with obsessing about dates, how much time its taking, etc, etc until I started my antidepressant. In my case I took Paxil. It really did help that side of my personality.

I do the same thing. Counting up the weeks he's been gone this time. Counting the time he was gone last time. Trying to compare all the different times. Just keeps going round and round in your head, huh?

Perfectly normal behaviour!!!
One day though-this too will subside.
Try to side track your mind if it bothers you to obsess-and I am sure it does. Start singing or humming or talking to yourself. Or......as I do often. Ask God to take your thoughts to a better place. He is a good God and I am sure he is watching over you [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Take care
------------------
*heartache*
"Life's A Dance
You Learn As You Go.
Sometimes You Lead
Sometimes You Follow!
Don't worry 'Bout What You Don't Know
LIfe's A Dance
You Learn As You Go."
