My husband flirts a lot.. he has a lot of female friends. They send him cards and emails saying "I love you more than life".. and just recently he has totally lied to my face about who one of the cards were from.. this totally devestated me. I suddenly realize he's not the man I thought he was.
When I ask him for his honesty, he says I'm being jealous and over reacting.. and if he tells me the truth I fly off the handle and get jealous.. when these girlfriends are just friends.
I have read and understood I might not be meeting his needs and have asked him if I'm not making him happy.. he just says I'm jealous and over bearing and yet everyone else says I'm easy going.??
What do I do?

Terry,
Did your husband give you a reason for his lie about who sent the card?
Do you suspect there is more to this than friendship?
I think that the important factor here is not whether flirting should be considered cheating, but that the flirting is hurtful and inconsiderate towards you.
He is being selfish for continuing behavior that makes you so obviously uncomfortable, and to defend it by accusing you of being 'overbearing' is unfair.
Have you read The Policy of Joint Agreement?
If you haven't read it yet, please have a look...I think it could be really helpful in your situation.
Good luck to you,
Take care, and stay strong.
-A
