I'm trying a new twist on life-trying to turn this into something positive. While my H lives with the OW, Iplan to get to know myself by going on a series of adventures.(fits into plan A I'm sure) I've informed my H that I plan to find myself and enjoy my life being "single" by trying all kinds of new things(not men) while he is attached and having responsibilities to her and her son. I suggested to him that he could move into his own apartment and enjoy being "single" for awhile too!(this is better than living with her!!)
To start, I'm taking a trip to San Francisco this month. My sister and I are renting a convertible and driving the coastline. We'll have our sunglasses on and the music playing and cigarettes hanging from our mouths(I don't smoke) but the image is great. Kind of like Thelma and Louise.
My H mid-life crisis is probably linked to his need to find himself. We were married very young and have done nothing much but work and raise kids for the past 25 years.
I hope you can find positive experiences in all this too.
Strange how he was so anxious for our teenagers to grow up and give us our independance and now he's in a house with a clinging woman and a 14 year old.

Yup, we bought a new house for our old age and a year later , he's in an A. Happened in June-Aug ,00 and our youngest two were both going away to school in Aug 00. He couldn't wait to "be alone with me in this house". Said that frequently from the time we bought it, to the time the EA started.
His OW has two teenagers. My dark side says it would have almost been worth it to see him run from THAT!!LOL.
You have a wonderful time in SF. I am from there originally. Bring a sweater,if you're gonna be in the city. I love the Thelma and Louise imagery. It is a beautiful place, the whole coast.
I wonder why some people has these killer MLC and others are not affected. I was 18 when I got married. Am still waiting for MY MLC...I'm 46 now.

You certainly have the right idea. I have the same plan to go on and be happy and have fun. They say the best revenge is to be happy. Well I figure she can keep playing house , while I enjoy being single

Hey, Maezy!! I'm with ya all the way! Life is all about choices; and like you, I choose to be happy. What I have discovered while H has been 'running' from his fears of old age and death via the OW distraction, is that I'm a heck of a lot more peaceful, lighthearted and happy when he's gone. He's been an emotional cancer eating away at my very soul. Today, as I was painting our laundry room and listening to the radio, I felt hope and love seeping into my being. It was very odd. I thought to myself, "I'm in love again, I just don't yet know who with!" Then again, perhaps it's ME, could it be that I'm falling in love with myself again????
The Highway 1 drive is spectacular!! A very good choice. Make sure you stop to see the wine country, and the Hearst castle in San Simeon. I know exactly what you're feeling because just this week, MY sister and I have been hatching a plan to go off and do something together.
Have a blast!! You deserve it.
