It's been almost four weeks since my H has discontinued regular contact with the OW. They had been emailing and calling each other daily for over 8 months. She's overseas so the last and only second time they were intimate was back in October'2000. He SAYS he's talked to her only once in the last four weeks. I checked his email logs and there has been nothing from her. I tried to send her an email an it bounced back so she's changed her email address. He says he has no desire to do anything. He's just so SAD and listless. He says that right now, he feels no hope for our marriage. What do I do now? Is this normal? If so, how can I help him?
Hi T.
Depression could be a part of the withdrawal. A visit to a counselor or therapist who can perscribe something may help. Your regular doc may be able to reference or help out also. If you can get him to some counseling sessions that would be helpful. Read the Newbie post. It will help you come to a better decision.
You also need to take care of yourself.
L.

Terrified:
Yes, this is a normal thing to have happen. It hurts us betrayeds, but it happens.
There are a lot of things going through your H's head right now...that he messed up bad with you...that he messed up bad with her....
Is he willing to see a counselor? That might help him.
Other than that, just try to do things that he likes to do. And that you like to do!
It's hard, but you can make it.
All the best.
--HBC
