Does anyone actually know someone that has had either an EA or PA, left their marriage to be with the OW or OM and is now living a happy life with no regrets?
I am just trying to compare and see if there are actually people out there that left their marriage for this kind of happiness and it worked out. I guess hearing "No's" would make me feel better than hearing "Yes's" right about now.
thanks.

I have heard of various cases where the cheating spouse married the other person, were happy and rarely looked back or thought about the past. This is not very comforting to know. I know of a case where the husband left the wife for the other woman. Then the other woman had an affair on this guy so now the guy doesn't know which woman to turn to. The first wife doesn't want him. The second woman wants him but he does not think she would make a good wife but only is good for sex. So he does not want to marry her. His first wife is a very good wife but is not too interested in sex. So he just doesn't know what to do.

My father-in-law married his OW and has been married now for about 13 years.
But remember this is one case in about 1,000,000. I know of many, many infidelities and none have ever turned out like this one.

I read somewhere that 3% of affairs end up in marriage? And also read somewhere that 1/2 of marriages end up in divorce? And read that 2nd marriages have a higher rate of divorce - 60%? If these are facts, then the math says that it is a success rate of just over 1%.
That is pretty hopeful for us marriage builders dealing with infidelity, wouldn't you say?

No, I don't think I know of any OW/OM's who lived happily ever after. Even those I knew that left their spouses and got a divorce ended up breaking up...
And when I noticed that back then (and didn't know about MB statistics, etc) I thought it was so odd to go through all that and then not be together.

I'm one that divorced and married the other man. My second marriage doesn't even compare to my first. My first husband lacked the maturity and emotions to make it work in any marriage though. He can't be compared to the men on this board. A guy that works with my husband has been married to the OW for over 20 years. Sometimes it does work, but I still agree that the statistics are probably correct.

I totally agree with the statistics. Any relationship founded on lies, deceit and the pain of others is usually doomed to fail. And you have to remember that the relationship with the OP is a fantasy. What do you think happens to that fantasy when there are bills, chores, and other mundane issues to deal with? Not such a fantasy anymore.
Sorry for your pain, sweetie. {{{Hugs}}}}

Hi there,
From what I've seen(and have seen alot at my age of 46) MOST don't work out and by most I mean 99%. The ones that have lasted ,honestly, don't seem too great......the one couple has 5 children between the 2 of them and even though they are grown....it's like WWIII. The wife also seems incredibly possessive....wonder why?!
If I was a bettor I sure wouldn't like the odds...... LU
