My wife gets upset when I tell I have discust our problem with friends, when I first found out I talked to one friend because I could not stop crying and she got ofended when I said I had no friends to talk to,Same when my SIL came by next day. This one lead to the whole family knowing, and a phone call to my wife frome her mom.I then broke down and talked to a long time coworker who is a good christian and he lead me back to roots and my faith in godand I started to pray every day for help for both of us.This has helped me alot and I know will get me thru this. Then lastly I have had a talk with my MIL,last week and yester day I went to see my FIL,he split from MIL 40 yrs. ago with kids,he gave me some very good insite and advice. He also thanked me for informing him of every thing. Now what do you think?Did I get out of line or what? Need to know!

Your W may see this as a big LB that you are talking to her family about her affair. It can be seen as your way of telling her family "SEE WHAT YOUR DAUGHTER/SISTER HAS DONE, SEE HOW AWFUL A PERSON SHE IS". I understand your motive in talking with friends about your pain, i just don't understand why you are running to her family instead of your own.

I disagree somewhat with trying2_4give. Yes, what you did will be a big LB to your wife because she may think you're trying to take revenge and embarass her. Of course your motives weren't revenge, and, well, if she's embarassed, that comes with the territory.<P>I think it's entirely proper to go to the family members you need for support. This obviously varies from person to person. Maybe you don't need to discuss details. Put this behind you and move on.<P>WAT

I should have stated that if you are close to all of the family members that you told about W's affair and that you normally confide in them about stuff going on then I could understand you continuing to turn to them for support. But, if these are people that you normally don't confide in and then all of sudden u are telling all, for me, i would take it as a LB as your wife has.

Need2Know<P>I also went to my inlaws and talked with them about my H's affair. They have been more supportive of me then my own parents and family. <P>They spoke with their son and talked to him about his problems. I beleive that they helped him see that his life wouldnt be so rosey with the OW either. That he would be just trading our problems with different ones that might be better or might be worse.<P>His father also told him that he wouldnt know how long their love would last as it was too new and not proven. Why throw away a proven love? He also told him that if it were him he'd always wonder if she was cheating on him.<P>So all in all, talking to the inlaws is a big love buster for the WS but it panned out good for me and I'd do it again. <P>Every one's situation is completely different, you must judge your own. But I know that I couldnt be where I am with out their support.

My Stbx got so Pi**ed cause i told everyone of my friends and some of our mutual friends that she was having an EA with a MM.<BR>She told me "if you tell everyone our business, then we will never be able to get back together cause everone will hate me."<BR>I told her that is crap, if she doesnt think that what she did is immoral or wrong then she should have no problem with people knowing the truth.<BR>I said if you start dating this guy, or marry him when he divorces his wife. What are you going to tell everyone about how you met?<P>------------------<BR>Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.
