I have question. If I a AOL member send emails to the OW and she is Aol member too, can my husband at work on his Netscape or other server tap into those emails I sent her if he knew her address and password? Would the status then show me when I check "not yet read" I sent her emails and they show not read but I feell that my husband is reading them. Anyway he could retrieve them, with software or other internet connections other than aol? Thanks , Im a novice with computers

yes you can check aol mail through the internet and they can check a box that says leave as new mail and it will look as if it has not been read... I am not sure how it appears to the person who has sent it...
C1

Dear concerned, thanks. Are you speaking of how it would look to her status or if I pressed my status?. My status always says not yet read but I have always felt that somehow both of them or he were reading them. thanks alot.

from her status if it is being read on the net and not on aol as long as the person on the net hits that keep as new button it does not appear that it has been read,,, from your status I dont know if it will look as if read... send an email to a friend and then ask them to look at it on the net without signing on through aol and see what you see on your screen when they check the leave as unread on theirs..
gosh I tried to tell ya that I can play computer games really well... LOL
C1

Hey my friend who is on aol says that regardless of wheather they see it on the net or aol once it is read even if they check off the box,,, the status on your computer shows read..... so that means if you feel that the content has been read more than likely you have a stealth program on your computer? so maybe he reads as you sent things..
C1

Chardondeere,
I just tested this (I am on AOL too) by sending myself an email, reading it from the net, setting it back to "keep as new", then checking the status from my AOL account, and the others are correct, it does still show "read". And yes, if he has her screen name and password he can access her AOL mail via the internet from another computer.
Hope that helps!
Juanita

[This message has been edited by Juanita (edited May 25, 2001).]

Char:
I am just thinking that if you feel that he has knowledge of your email to the ow (which by the way you really shouldnt be contacting her,,,but that in itself is another matter which has been addressed on this forum before)
then he might have a computer program tracking what you are doing <grin> or he has your password to your account and checks your outbox ,,, what makes you think that he has read your letters to the ow?
C1
