Would any of you out there using St. John's wort please let me know if it works for you, recommended dosage etc. I don't really know too much about depression nor the drugs used for it. I didn't have much need for it prior to WH flying off on his spaceship to Fogland. Now of course my whole world seems to have fallen apart and I find it tough to sleep, smile, etc etc etc. I put on a brave front for the kids but my mind is working overtime. It has only been about 7 weeks since D day - so I might as well arm myself for what is to come - once the initial numbness starts to wear off.
Thanks
Shakti
Hi Shakti,
I used St. John's Wort when my H left. I just took the dosage that is recommended on the bottle. It took it about 3 weeks to get into my system and start working but when it did, it REALLY helped! I was able to think clearer, control my emotions a little better, and I actually started smiling again. I recommend it if you don't want to take any prescription anti-depressants.
Take care,
Mitzi [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

I started taking SJW a few weeks after dday #1. It really did help and I was starting to wean myself off of it when I was hit with dday #2, about yet another OW, before the one I already knew about. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I went back to the maximum dosage for a few weeks(I think it's 900 mg., but be sure and read the label). I guess this final revelation, coupled with job stress and 2 teenage daughters, sent me over the edge. I got really depressed and nothing seemed to pull me out of it, so I went to the doc and he put me on Prozac. It seems to be working great, but it was a last resort for me. I definitely recommend trying the SJW first.
------------------
"Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." 1 Corinthians 13:7
