Son had earache this AM. Crying at 6 AM wanting me to call Mom and ask her to come over to be with us. Eventually, I tried, but of course no answer. At OMs house no doubt.
Yesterday she went through the usual "fake appointment" scenario so I would take the kids last night, so she could play baseball and go out.
Two night ago, her one night with them this week, she couldn't find the time to call so they could say goodnight. Turns out OM was around all evening, hence she wouldn't want to call cause they'd tell me he was there.
So, I'm ready to let her have it. But probably should not.
I think I'll at least say that in case of emergency, I will call OMs house at night. Also, to call me for goodnight call regardless of whether OM is around.
What do you think? Plan B coming very soon, so LBs probably not good now, but I'm ready to.
She will be by for daughter in 45 minutes.
[This message has been edited by Rick37 (edited June 01, 2001).]

Rick - please bite your tongue. You know how important it is right before shifting gears. Your reaction is right on - how can a Mom put her fantasy world before her kids? But you know how common it is. Call me up and yell at me instead. I'll try to fake it like I'm from the mothership and get in a good argument with you. I know what to say to allow you to get it all out.
However, I think it is appropriate to set up an emergency plan - just don't LB!!
Dave (WAT)

Dave,
Thanks for the quick reply. I did not LB. I think I needed to hear from someone not to let loose, because I was close. Can always count on you.
Actually, she threw me off, on purpose no doubt. She would have seen that I called her cell phone (and home phone if she went there), so first thing she said to me when she arrived was "I hurt my shoulder this morning at the gym". I'm sure that translates to .... "I know you called...I was at the gym...yeah yeah thats it, at the gym".
Now there is a miniscule chance that the gym story is true, but even if it was, no doubt she was at OMs anyway.
She asked if we could all go to garage sales tomorrow morning. She took the kids last week, and they thought it was really fun. My answer should have been "sure", but I said "we'll see, I'll call you later". However, before she left, she asked again, so I said yes. I guess I have to since I'm still in Plan A. Not excited though.
Thanks again.

I've never met a man excited to do any kind of shopping much less go to a garage sale! Your lack of excitement probably has a little to do with her and a lot to do with your gender ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/tongue.gif)
If you get in a similar situation again (earache etc..) and she is not at home, just call OM house and ask for wife. If she is not there, leave a message that her child is sick and crying for her. I'm sure she'll get it. I wouldn't even say that you would have to forwarn her about your plan to do this.
[This message has been edited by cleopatra (edited June 01, 2001).]

Rick,
I know I'm late, but good going on biting your tongue. Your W's last impression of you (before you go into Plan B) should be your best-foot-forward. So way to go.
Oh yeah, go to the garage sales. Where else are you going to find awesome used tools at bargain prices???
AGG

I posted a thread awhile ago and had thought about burning it, but decided I was going to take the money and spend it on something frivilous for myself!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
