My H & I have been together almost 10 years. We have been married for almost 5 out of those 10 w/a 51/2 year old son. Our relationship has been dysfunctional for most of the relationship. More then a month ago he told me he had met someone & liked them. I found emails etc... We started Marriage Counseling the next week. He didn't want any part of counseling or me at first. He is moving out, but counseling is going well. The realtionship with the other person has ended & I don't know how far it got. We have decided to try to be friends right now then start dating. He will be moving out this weekend and I have mixed feelings about it. I'm excited about the new venture into our relationship. Can anyone who has been in a similar situation offer any advice on how I can get thru this?

He stayed at his new residence last night. While he was moving some of his things he kept saying this is just temporary until we see how things work out. He then asked why do i look so sad? I said should I be jumping for joy. I said I'm not happy that our marriage is on the skids. We both think living in separate places will definately help right now. We are still going through marriage counseling and plan to continue. We are not talking about the marriage being over. The counselor suggested the separation would be good right now for both of us.I feel we have come a long way in the last few weeks. We are trying to like each other again. We are focusing on each other right now. I hope that answers your question.
