I NEED SOME ADVICE/OPINIONS AND I HAVE NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. THE TWO FRIENDS I DO HAVE SAY THERE IS NO HOPE. I WANT TO BELIEVE THERE IS. I AM THE WS. I HAVE CRIED AND BEEN TORN APART BY WHAT I HAVE DONE. HE SAID HE WOULD FORGIVE ME-BUT YESTERDAY HE SAYS HE CAN'T EVER FORGIVE ME BECAUSE HE STILL HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FACT THAT ANOTHER MAN KISSED ME AGAINST MY WILL WHILE WE WERE ENGAGED. I EXPLAINED THAT SITUATION TO HIM AND I FELT THAT THE 4 YEARS HE TORMENTED ME ABOUT THAT EVERY DAY WERE UNFAIR TO ME. SOMEBODY TELL ME WHAT TO DO!! HOW WILL HE EVER BEGIN TO HEAL IF HE STILL HATES ME BECAUSE OF SOMETHING THAT WAS AGAINST MY WISHES. I SLAPPED THE GUY AND WALKED OFF. YES, HE WAS MY EX, BUT SHOULDN'T THE FACT THAT I SLAPPED HIM AND TOLD HIM I WAS IN LOVE COUNT? I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

R:
Take a deep breath. Remember, your H is on an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. Follow the MB principles. If you can, get him to read Surviving an Affair (if he hasn't already); do the Emotional Needs questionnaire. That book, and the others by Dr. Harley, are your roadmaps to rebuilding your marriage.
This forum is for you to take comfort from, advice from, to vent: whatever your emotional or intellectual need (well, regarding MB philosophy anyway, rocket science we will leave to the NASA site).
See if your H will invest in a call to Steve Harley, if not, you should (click on the Counsel link at the top of the page).
Prayers for you and your H,
Godspeed,
STL
