I finally had my appt this morning at the clinic.. and ended up spending 5 hours at the hospital!! At least I had the twins with me to help pass the time.
I am still pregnant, the ultrasounds (one external, one internal) show gestation at about 6 weeks 6 days... but no heartbeat. HOWEVER, from what I was told, heartbeats aren't easily detected until after the 7th week sometime.
I have opted to get bloodwork done to see if my HCG (?) levels stay the same or rise (meaning pregnancy is still in tact) or lower (meaning I'll have to terminate the pregnancy if my body doesn't do it on its own). They took some blood today, and I have to get more taken in 48 hours (Saturday afternoon sometime), and I won't have any more answers until Monday at the earliest.
It's going to be a LONG weekend... and there's nothing H and I can do but wait.
I know this isn't really MB related (well, it is with a twist...grin).. but you folks are the only ones I have shared any of this info with (aside from H of course!), so I felt the need to talk about it some.
Karen
mainemade:
The twist I'd say, is the fact that this isn't a pregnancy related board (although lately I wonder sometimes.. grin), but the pregnancies obviously affect the recoveries of all of us too. At least I know in my case, it's certainly putting a twist on things for H and I (changing near future plans for us, etc). Is that a good enough answer? Topie,
I understand your anxiety of the situation. I recently experienced this in a very similar manner. My thoughts and wishes go out to you for a healthy pregnancy, and a continued recovery.
Trace

THANK YOU Karen, I had 3 High risk pregnancies. ( total birth wieght of ALL 3 KIDS 13.5 pounds) OUr last one was a scare a minute. They thought i was losing her, due to a massive bleed. Took the hormone test said yes i was losingher, i went to the las to get the paperwork to go to the local hospital to have a D & C and was informed that they had made a mistake and my hormone levels were actually rising. I know the stress of waiting to see if it is all OK. ANd Karen I am here to talk if you need it. I am well versed in scary pregnancies, pre-mature babies, and PICU and NICU units. GOd Bless you with this baby, and ((((((((((((((BIG HUGS)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Maine
------------------
IN the words of BOB the BUILDER!!" WE can fix it, yes we can!!!"

mainemade:
I too am all too familiar with high risk pregnancies and early arrivals... although my 1st and 3rd & 4th (the twins) were only one month early, and still weighed in awesome! (6lbs 12oz, 6lbs 5oz, and 5 lbs). My whopper was my 2 yr old, he was only 1 week early (by the due date) and was 8lbs 14oz! (and that birth was au natural! OUCH! LOL).
I have never experienced a miscarriage (to my knowledge... technically, we could all be having one every month), and it was bothering me that I could not get much information on it online. Sure, loads of support groups for post miscarriage, but nothing on what happens during one.
I have to go to the lab in a few hours to get the next blood work done. And I won't know any results until Monday morning when I can call the clinic.
I am still bleeding. Not enough to have to wear a pad all the time, but getting the odd small gush. And there are some clots in there (pea size). I know that's not right. I've also started getting some cramps (to me they're mild, b/c I know I have a high pain tolerance).
I have mentally been convincing myself that this pregnancy will not continue. Part of preparing for the worst I guess. But as we all know, it's the waiting that is awful!
Karen
p.s. I'm SO HAPPY you decided to stay on here.

(((((((Karen))))))), you are in my thoughts and prayers. With both my girls I managed to slip and fall when I was about 8-weeks and ended up having a weeks bed-rest because of slight bleeding - thankfully the pregnancies continued OK. Keeping my fingers and everything else crossed for you too...
many hugs, Paint

Karen, stay positive for you and the baby. I bled thru all 3 pregnancies. I even left softball sized clots in the toilet. So in my opinion it can be fine. My biggest was 5 pounds, my smallest was our son, he was born at 28 weeks and weighed in at 2 1/2 pounds roughly. He is HUGE now. All 3 of ours were preemies. Do your doctors think you are definatly losing this baby? I had 3 C sections, YIKES. PLease let me know what the tests say too. You will be soin my prayers too.
(((((((((((((((((((((HHHHHHHHHHUUUUGGGGGGLES))))))))))))))
and PSS I am glad i decided to stay in here too.
Maine
------------------
IN the words of BOB the BUILDER!!"
