Check out:
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/GMA/GoodMorningAmerica/GMA010713Alienation_of_affection.html
There is a law that was highlighted on Good Morning America today. Please check it out. I'm considering filing the same law suit (alienation of affection) against OM who will not stay away from my wife. He is even trying to "befriend" my children.
I'm running out of time and money (almost broke), unemployed, and trying to find work. My wife moved out, is admittedly seeing OM, and the only way to pay the mortgage and other bills is if my Dad helps. He won't do so unless she moves home. The kid's don't know everything except that they have told their psychiatrist that they do not want to be near OM. Should I file suit? There is legislation pending that would end this law. I know that money cannot begin to compensate the loss of my marriage, but at least I can help to support my chidren further if I prevail.
S. Harley has asked me to hold off on filing suit. But I'm almost broke! What do I do? We have our next meeting with Steve at the end of July. My Dad does not know that my wife is still seeing OM still either.

Never say die!:
What Do You Think?
Good Morning America wants to know what you think of the alienation of affections law. Should a spouse be able to file suit against someone they believe broke up their marriage?
Fill out the e-mail below.
I think all the BS should fill out the email with the WS information and vote "YES". Maybe they could pass a law for destruction of personal property...our lives.
Sorry, I just had to vent. Best wishes to you.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why is your Dad putting stipulations on helping you that you cannot control? Could you collect unemployment? I don't know the laws there, but it seems if you have the children, your wife would have to pay child support. You might able to get more immediate financial help through the court, from your wife, for child support. For adultery or abandonment here, the spouse could be liable to pay alimony. You should try to get an attorney to advise you. If you can't afford one, try legal aid. Call the Bar Association and see if they can direct you. I don't know what is available where you are. Some states have programs to provide a pro-bono attorney, if you qualify. Just start making phone calls and ask. Have you tried getting help from social services?
Also, you would need an attorney for a law suit, and that costs. Even if you filed a suit...it usually takes time, IMO it's no quick solution. Harley must have a reason for waiting?
